"This company is obviously nationwide and hires local contractors.  I trusted Agies List that all contractors are licensed, bonded and have background checks.  This person was a handyman and not qualified to wall mount, conceal wires, add electrical outlet.  He  spend five hours in my home, for a job that should have taken two hours and left the area in a disaster.  The TV was hung close to the ceiling, the wires were hanging down from the TV, and the receiver was sitting on top of a plaster box because the cord was too short.  He was obviously not qualified to install TV wall mounts.  I have photos.    As soon as he left, I called Best Buy Geek Squad.  They were able to come out the next day and mount the TV professionally.  I have used the geek squad in Virginia and they are highly qualified.  They charge more than this nationwide company but you get what you pay for.  I called Angies List the day after the disaster and said i did not want to rate this company but I wanted to talk to a manager. No one called me to apologize. I have cancelled my membership.  Do not use this company unless you can be assured that the local contractor is qualified and is licensed.  You should never let anyone into your home that has not had background checks.

"We have American Home Shield warranty. We did have some plumbing and electrical work done. I have no idea who the service was because we did it through the home warranty. They have a $75 deductible for everything. American Home Shield has been great, definitely A across the board. The $75 deductible seemed great for cost and professionalism. They have a web site, Hub, where you can request service and everything, so A across the board for them. They are punctual and they cover the range of plumbing and - they cover a lot of issues with the home so I can always go to them if anything goes wrong, from plumbing to electrical to appliances. They've got me covered across the board."

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Wolf Point’s climate, with its harsh winters, strong winds, and frequent storms, means electrical projects require cold-rated wiring, extra weatherproofing, and robust surge protection. Flooding from the Missouri River can threaten low-lying electrical systems, so elevating components is smart. The best window for electrical work is May through September, when conditions are milder and delays from snow or heavy rain are less likely, ensuring safer, smoother project completion.

Helpful?

In Wolf Point, if you notice lights dimming or flickering during windstorms, outlets feeling warm or showing discoloration, or a persistent burning odor, these may signal underlying electrical repair needs. Frequent breaker trips, moisture near electrical panels—especially after snowmelt—and sparking when plugging in devices are also warning signs. Older homes in Wolf Point are especially vulnerable, so prompt attention can prevent bigger, costlier issues.

Helpful?

Electrical maintenance in Wolf Point should include quarterly panel checks to spot corrosion from temperature swings, annual inspections for moisture near basements or crawl spaces, and bi-annual GFCI outlet testing to prevent shock risks. After spring storms, check for loose wires or water intrusion. Replace surge protectors every few years, inspect outdoor outlets for weatherproofing, and maintain generator and well pump systems, which are vital for rural MT homes.

Helpful?

To make electrical projects safer in Wolf Point, install tamper-resistant outlets and advanced GFCI protection, especially in basements prone to moisture. Use secure outlet covers and cord organizers to keep hazards out of reach. Interconnect smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for faster alerts. Lock electrical panels, add nightlights for long winter evenings, and consider battery backups for essential lighting during power outages common in rural MT areas.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Wolf Point, confirm your project timeline accounts for seasonal weather, like spring flooding or winter storms, which can slow progress. Arrange inspections early due to limited local availability, and coordinate with utility providers for any necessary upgrades. For properties near the Missouri River or on tribal land, secure all permissions in advance to avoid unexpected delays during your electrical project.
