"Dakota called right away and came by to look at the project and gave us a quote. He showed us several projects he had already completed and we hired him. "had an excellent experience working with Lemons Contracting. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and communicative. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, and they completed the job on time and within budget. "Miller Construction is a wonderful company to work with. They remodeled my kitchen, demolished my deck to rebuild a raised enclosed screen porch, created a paver patio and laid the sod for 8,000 square feet of lawn space. They take the utmost care to fully understand what needs to be done so that changes to the original contract are minimal. One of my favorite things about them is their attention to detail and how they offer suggestions and upgrades ahead of time so there are no surprises at the end. They take pride in their work and the construction is always soiid. In my kitchen, they recommended colors, suggested changes to the backsplash and did so knowing we had a budget in mind. My kitchen looks phenomenal and I love being in there every day. On the exterior of my home, they demolished an old deck, rebuilt a better one that tied into the rear of our home. This was being used as a base for a patio, and they even used an alcove space to create a bar area complete with separate lighting and a two level bar (using left over counter material from the kitchen remodel). The woodwork, roofing, screening, patio and sod word is excellent. I have other projects and plan to use them again."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Services include creating technical drawings, floor plans, and 3D renderings for construction or renovation projects.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

Hiring a professional to do a loft conversion will certainly speed up the process. The construction steps required to change the slope of the roof can be quite difficult to do as a DIY job. Should the project run into any snags, like rot in the joists, frayed wiring, or roof leaks, hiring a local home remodeling professional makes it far easier to handle these issues safely.
