"I highly recommend Miguel Painting! From start to finish, the level of professionalism was outstanding. Miguel and his team showed up on time, communicated clearly throughout the entire process, and treated my home with care and respect. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the job was completed in a timely manner without cutting corners. What truly stood out to me was Miguel’s honesty and transparency. He was upfront about pricing, timelines, and what to expect—no surprises, just great service. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional, and trustworthy painting company that gets the job done right and on schedule, Miguel Painting is the one to call. I will definitely be using them again!"

"Mark and his staff did a remarkable job. The limb was in a very difficult location to reach and cut but they accomplished the job and it all looks great. Mark is very courteous and professional. We highly recommend him and will certainly call him again whenever we have another job to be done."

"The removal and replacement of the roof was done in a timely and professional manner. I have used this company for other jobs in the past and was always impressed with their work. The problem I had on this occasion was post replacement. The first storm after the roof was replaced produced a leak in one of the bedrooms. They were quick to check and repair the problem, but the leak left a stain on the ceiling which needs to be touched up. Six months and numerous tries later, I can still not get the company to send someone to touch this up. With my wife and I attempting to sell our house, it looks like we will need to hire someone to do what this company should have done. Like I said before, I had good experiences on prior jobs, but this one will make me hesitant to use them again or recommend them to anyone else."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's a good idea to sand the wall with fine-grit sandpaper after spackling, especially if you plan on painting. You can do this by hand or using a sander, but the idea is to ensure the spackle is flush with the wall. Sanding will give your wall a smooth, uniform finish and help your paint and wallpaper stay put.

You can use latex or acrylic paint outdoors. Although acrylic paint tends to last longer outside, it also costs more, so if you’re painting the outside of your house, for instance, latex paint is often a go-to option. However, acrylic will be your best choice if you want to spend some extra money for added durability.

The staining or painting process involves cleaning the deck, sanding surfaces, applying a primer (if needed), and carefully applying stain or paint for an even, lasting finish.

Your tool of choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. Many DIYers prefer applying stain with a lint-free rag, but others stick with a paint brush or a roller. Wipe the stain and work it into the wood, working with and against the grain. If you’re applying multiple coats, allow the stain to dry for around four hours between coats.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.
