"Hired him to build a deck to support a hot tub. The deck was done under the estimated time and for the right price. He was very professional and agreeable and efficient. Zero complaints. Already got him coming back for another job soon."

"Mark and his staff did a remarkable job. The limb was in a very difficult location to reach and cut but they accomplished the job and it all looks great. Mark is very courteous and professional. We highly recommend him and will certainly call him again whenever we have another job to be done."

"Job took longer than expected due to unexpected illness of a crew member, but they worked on a Saturday to make sure it was completed and the dog was not left without a fence over the weekend."

"We’re going to use him but it wound up we couldn’t get the financing for it so we could not use him. But preliminarily, the services were really good. He was very thorough and gave us some good estimate. He followed up regularly with us. We were really pleased with him. If the financing will come to fruition, we will use him. He did not charge us for the estimate and I was pretty impressed with that because he did spend a fair amount of time on it."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

American badgers sleep in the burrows they dig, which can be extensive, featuring multiple chambers and tunnels. Badgers prefer to excavate their dens in open grasslands, prairies, and fields where the soil is easy to dig. They are solitary animals and usually have several burrows within their territory to use as needed. These underground homes provide them with a safe and secure place to rest during the day and to raise their young.

The most common slope, or roof pitch, for a shed is 4:12 or four inches of height for every horizontal foot. For areas that experience heavy snow loads, a steeper roof of 6:12 or 9:12 is best.

The term “cottage” is subjective, so there’s no rigid definition, but it generally refers to a small home with simple and purposeful architecture that embraces nature and focuses on charm over everything else. Cottages are typically 1 or 1 1/2-stories tall, usually with gabled roofs, and are built out of natural materials that help make the structure a part of the surrounding nature rather than something that stands out from it. A big part of what makes a cottage a cottage is the decor, which includes natural materials from the nearby area.

While sheds are most certainly helpful for most homeowners, unfortunately, sheds do not add value to a home or property in the traditional sense. However, if the home has limited storage or garage space, having a shed to store things like decorations or lawn equipment can certainly be a positive if you want to sell.
