"I was totally awestruck by Mike's professionalism, knowledge and honesty. He was able to reassure me that my used computer is in tip top shape and has more memory then I even imagined. He was able to remotely get into my computer to check it out since he is in Arizona and I am in Oklahoma. Normally I would not have allowed this-but thanks to Mikes many tremendous reviews and A Grade I trusted him and do not regret it. In my opinion he deserves an A++! It's been 20 years since I have owned a desktop computer and I'm obviously not tech savvy! Mike did not take advantage of that and was even kind enough to share some info with me free of charge. I have already opened a file (in my filing account with his name on it)! I am making a list of things for him to help me with and will definitely be back in touch with him. I highly recommend Mike's company to anyone looking for an honest, reputable computer repair person."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Went very well.....scheduled appointment at my convenience, was on time, and worked very quickly.  Showed what work he did.  I waited a couple of weeks before submitting this report to make sure I had no further issues.   Computer works fine and problem resolved.  I would use My Computer Buddy again.
Very professional.....explained everything he was going to do.

Computer Repair questions, answered by experts

In Madison's climate, failing to control indoor humidity with a dehumidifier can shorten the life of computer repairs by allowing corrosion. Other damaging habits include blocking computer vents, which leads to overheating, and not protecting devices from power fluctuations during storms. Leaving electronics in non-climate-controlled spaces like garages also exposes them to damaging temperature and moisture extremes, leading to premature failure.

Helpful?

Yes, strategic tech upgrades can boost your home’s resale appeal in Madison. A dedicated home office with proper networking infrastructure is highly valued by the area's growing remote worker population. Installing a whole-house surge protection system also adds value by showing preparedness for local weather. These features demonstrate quality maintenance and can make your home more attractive to professional buyers.

Helpful?

For a new homeowner in Madison, the first priority is protecting equipment from local weather. Installing robust surge protection is essential due to frequent thunderstorms. You should also invest in a backup power supply (UPS) to guard against outages during storm season. Finally, assess your home's ventilation to ensure computers have adequate cooling to combat the summer heat and prevent overheating issues.

Helpful?

In Mississippi, older homes built before the 1990s may have inadequate electrical capacity or grounding, complicating modern computer setups. Other warning signs include frequent circuit breaker trips, poor Wi-Fi signals due to brick construction, and noticeable hot spots in certain rooms. Basements or homes with crawl spaces can also introduce humidity that damages electronics, requiring special consideration for placement and protection.

Helpful?

Madison's humid subtropical climate directly impacts computer repair needs. High humidity causes internal condensation and corrosion, while hot summers lead to overheating. Frequent thunderstorms from April to September create power surges that can damage sensitive components like motherboards and power supplies. These local weather patterns result in a higher demand for repairs related to moisture, heat, and electrical damage throughout the year in Madison.
