We are small and growing. I the owner, tech and installer also office manager. that is all we have right now.

"Do not trust Oasis for your repairs. Because "repairman" David couldn't use zip ties to tie wiring (under a big fan) when he replaced our compressor, we now (9 mos later) have a nonfunctional unit because a hot wire touched and burned through a copper capillary tube. Lost all coolant. He's telling AHS warranty company that this is a reduculous claim. He WAS the installer and also WAS the person that found the leak. I was right there watching. I asked why he didn't use zip ties and he just gave me a dumb look. Now there needs probably $500-$1000 in repairs because of no zip ties and he won't stand behind "his" own failed work. Very disappointing. But I am fighting this with the warranty co. Meanwhile it's cold every night and no heat. Plus, this guy doesn't even carry a ladder. In an area with 1000s of elevated houses. I called Oasis and asked for the owner who refused to talk to me. Then I found out later that owner is David. Do yourself a favor and find another company or make sure your warranty company doesn't send you Oasis. I will update this is David stands up and repairs damage he personally caused. In the picture ( Which I took through the grate) the black wire has a white scorch mark and the copper tube has a burn through which you can see just above the yellow wire. It also took 2 visits 4 days apart because David first came with NO equipment to analyze the situation. My wife has been very sick, so having a cold house with one space heater hasn't helped. Thank You David for your customer care and service. ??‍♂️?"

Air Duct Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Mold in HVAC ducts is a relatively common issue that homeowners struggle with—especially in humid climates or homes with poor ventilation. Moisture from condensation, combined with dust and organic debris, creates the perfect environment for mold growth. Homes with high humidity, leaky ducts, or clogged drains are more prone to this issue. Regular inspections and proper HVAC maintenance significantly reduce the risk of mold developing in your ducts.

You will know if your furnace needs cleaning if your furnace seems to be working less efficiently than normal. You may notice your bedroom is chilly, but the living room is extremely warm, or perhaps the furnace isn’t heating the house properly at all. The furnace may also make weird noises, like bangs or whistles, or emit a rubbery or smoky smell when it is dirty. Of course, these symptoms could also be signs of other issues, so call in an HVAC pro to take a look as soon as possible.

Damp air from a humidifier can cause mold in ducts if it raises the air's humidity level too high for the duct system to handle or malfunctions, but it’s not a normal occurrence. To avoid mold trouble, set the humidistat to between 30% and 35% and inspect it often to ensure accuracy.

Yes, unfortunately, scorpions do come up through air vents on occasion if they’re not properly sealed. These pests are excellent at finding small openings and may use vents as a pathway to cooler areas inside, especially during hot weather. To prevent this, inspect your vents, seal any gaps, and install fine mesh screens where necessary.

Before you start removing mold, turn off the furnace. Clean away any visible mold from accessible areas using a mixture of water and mild detergent. Change air filters and check for moisture sources like leaks. If the problem persists or it's widespread, hire a local HVAC company for professional cleaning.
