"I had Pro Tech repair two pieces of wooden furniture. They were very cordial and professional. They worked very hard when they were here and treated my furniture very carefully. It’s critical to use the right size AC for your space and not go too small or too big. If you purchase an undersized unit, it won’t properly cool your house, and it has to work harder to reach the optimal temperature. This will eventually wear your unit out. An oversized unit can spell trouble because it will turn off and on more frequently, which also wears out your AC unit. An oversized unit also causes humidity in the home.

Unfortunately, a freon leak will persist even when your AC unit is off. The freon in the AC unit is under pressure no matter the status of the system, so it will continue to drip through the leak even when you shut off the entire unit. It will continue to leak freon until it’s completely empty.

A new air conditioner capacitor will cost less than replacing the entire air conditioner system. While a capacitor itself will cost between $8 and $25, paying a professional to replace an AC capacitor will cost $180 on average. It’s not safe to replace an air conditioner capacitor on your own. 

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.
