"Jamie communicated with me about scheduling, showed on time for the agreed date, worked quickly on the project- finishing in about 5-hours, cleanup after himself, and stuck to the agreed pricing with a modest concession for some unanticipated project changes. I would hire him again for a similar project with out bidding. Thanks Jamie!"

Small jobs welcome

"They gave me a good quote we agreed on and I was told they would start the next Monday. I didn't see or hear from them until the Friday after that when I finally got a call to see if I had hired anyone else to do the job. I hadn't so they explained that they had been in an automobile accident the Friday before they were to start my job and they had lost one of their crew and had to take care of that. I did feel sorry for them about that but I did think they should have called earlier to let me know about it before almost a week so I wouldn't be looking for them. After they got started, they did a great job of power washing my house, painting all the wood on the outside the house and inside the garage including two doors, replace the screens on the back porch and repair the air chamber on one storm door. I was pleased with their work for all the jobs."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.

Yes, replacing cabinet doors only as part of a cabinet refacing project. During the cabinet-refacing process, the doors and drawers are typically replaced, while the cabinet boxes themselves are covered with a veneer or laminate. If you’re content with the look of the cabinet boxes, however, you can simply swap out the doors to save money on labor and materials.

A kitchen remodel can be a major undertaking, depending on how much you change. If you’re changing the kitchen layout, you might be tempted to scrap everything and start fresh, but there are a few different ways to save money throughout the process.

  • Keep your existing cabinets and reface or repaint them

  • Consider choosing budget appliances and fixtures

  • DIY when possible, such as painting walls yourself

  • Choose prefabricated cabinets instead of custom cabinetry

  • Choose affordable flooring options where possible

You can modernize an old-looking closet by just painting it, but beyond that, consider electric elements like recessed or accent lighting. If this is a large and deep closet, you can consider adding an island to the middle or a nice ottoman on a rug. Luxury closets will have even more items, like felt-lined drawers for watches and jewelry, in-wall safes, electronic shoe storage, or a tablet catalog of their items.

While certain kits make DIY possible, professionals ensure durability and quality of finish, which is vital for high-moisture areas like baths.
