"Dakota and his team were very professional and did a great job repairing a wall and a ceiling. Dakota was very quick to communicate and return calls. Ive had bad experiences with contractors in the past and given how hard it is to find a good one I would definitely go back to country remodeling."

"Samuel was an excellent person to work with. His crew were on time, they did an outstanding job. They cleaned up everything. Samuel was there with his crew the majority of the time making sure everything we spoke about was done! His price to replace, the roof, all the boards around and under the roof and paint was lower than other estimates I got to just replace my roof. I am over the moon how beautiful my house looks and the job they done! Hire this crew and Samuel for any job you need done. You will be so glad you did! Thank Samuel"

"Excellent, excellent product. Trevor and Brandon's crew, provided way more than what I anticipated and thought we were getting. Their project lead, Mac, ensured the fence was both aesthetically nice, but structurally sound as well. The area that was fenced wasn't an easy area to work with but they resolved the problems quickly and skillfully. We had an overall plan and they had a number of good suggestions that improved the appearance, as well as saving us money. If someone is looking for a crew to get in and out, this crew isn't it- they don't "slap the work together ", they methodically and meticulously installed the fence, giving us advice and option on upkeeping its appearance. Personable men, good attitudes, courteous, strong work ethics. We couldn't be more happy with the fence, the process of installation, and the value. When I have another job, they will be my first (and only) call..."

Garages questions, answered by experts

Garage door screens can expand your living space, turning a garage into a home office, gym, or entertainment space. They provide comfortable ventilation, insect control, and privacy, allowing you to enjoy your space all year round. Consult a local garage door screen installer to add this feature to your space.

The best way to prevent your garage door from freezing is to install a permanent source of heat in the garage. You can have a professional tie in your main heating system or install a ductless mini split as a standalone heating solution. You can also insulate the garage to prevent temperatures from dropping to the point that the door freezes shut.

On average, a garage door can last between 15 and 30 years. However, this lifespan is influenced by several factors, including the quality and material of the door, local climate conditions, and how frequently it is used and maintained.

Key factors affecting longevity include:

  • Material: Wooden doors can last 20 to 30 years or more, while steel doors typically last 15 to 20 years. More robust options, like triple-layer steel, can last 25 to 30 years with proper care. The number of layers in a door also contributes to its durability, with each additional layer potentially adding five years to its life.

  • Maintenance: Regular inspections, cleaning, and immediate repairs can significantly extend the life of your garage door.

  • Usage and Climate: Doors in harsh climates or those used very frequently may wear out faster.

  • Components: Individual parts have different lifespans. For example, automatic openers may fail sooner than the door itself without regular maintenance, and garage door springs typically need replacement every 7 to 12 years.

While the door panels are designed to last as long as the door, they should be replaced sooner if they become visibly damaged, impact the door's smooth operation, or create a security risk.

With the exception of small, lightweight torsion-spring garage doors, which can operate with one spring, most garage doors require two springs to work properly. Garage doors with extension springs always require two springs—if one extension spring is broken or otherwise failing, the garage door may open unevenly and could pose a hazard if the remaining spring fails.

You should spray garage door lubricant on its important mechanical parts, including the hinges, rollers, springs, bearing plates, lock, armbar, and, potentially, rail. Do not lube the tracks, though you should clean these regularly for optimal performance.
