"Simply Amazing!!! After living all over the country, K & M Cleaning Service is the best service we've ever been lucky enough to use! We also tried out a few different services as well as individuals here locally in Austin that were subpar when compared to the thorough and fantastic job of K & M. I joke with my husband that we can't move again because we'll be hard pressed to find a service that does such a professional job from base boards to fans and everything in between. Many thanks & happy returns to K & M!"

"We have sixty chiledren that eats on the carpet every day and they did an awesome job. They got a lot of stains out that I wasn't sure would come out. They have done thiongs for us ever since the covid started. They have been doing the carpet for three years. They have been doing the building sanitation. They are very professional and very promt. If they are unsure about a certain stain coming out, they would point it out. A child spilled grape juice and that's the only thing they can't take out. They got most of it out and it looks like a shadow on the carpet. They do an awesome and i would recommend them."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

After a carpet cleaning, it's important to give it time to dry before walking on it. While you should wait at least one hour to prevent immediate damage, a general guideline is to stay off the carpet for 6 to 12 hours. For the carpet to dry completely, it's best to wait a full 24 hours if possible.

The exact drying time can vary based on several factors:

  • Carpet Type: Thicker or high-pile carpets may take up to a full day or longer to dry completely, especially if they are very wet.

  • Cleaning Method: Methods like steam cleaning, which extract most of the water, can reduce drying time, allowing for light traffic after 6 to 12 hours.

  • Environment: You can speed up drying time by ensuring good airflow, using fans, and maintaining low humidity. Poor ventilation will extend the drying period.

Walking on a damp carpet can re-soil it, leave footprints, and potentially damage the carpet fibers.

As with any home project, make sure you don’t hire the first person you call about the job, at least not at first. You will want to get at least three quotes and vet pros by asking for references, reading online reviews, and finding out what types of furniture upholstery they deal with the most often.

To remove odor from a leather couch, let's focus first on what not to do.

A quick Google search may suggest using vinegar to do the job—don't. The acid will dry out anything made of leather. A better DIY option is to sprinkle a little baking soda on your sofa and let it rest for a few hours. Afterward, vacuum it up with a soft-attachment brush. You can also try airing your sofa by opening windows or leaving it outside for a few hours in a clean, dry space.

Even cats that are well-trained at using the litter box can end up urinating on various household objects or floors at some point. Cats may pee outside of the litter box for many different reasons, from their surroundings to their health.

If any of these issues sound familiar, addressing them can help you prevent any future accidents. When in doubt, talk to your vet, especially if peeing outside the litter box is coupled with any other abnormal behavior.

  • Stress: A soiled litter box or untidy surroundings, strange guests stopping by, or loud noises may stress out a kitty, leading them to pee outside of their box.

  • Health: Cats with health issues like UTIs, bladder stones, diabetes, or kidney disease may pee around the house.

  • Marking: Cats may mark around the house to either claim their territory when other animals come around or to attract a mate.

  • Preferences: Your cat may simply prefer a larger litter box, or maybe they don’t like the new litter you bought on sale at the store.

You should always use hot water to clean your carpets. The heat will help lift dirt and stains as you work over them with your carpet cleaner. Before you fill your tank, allow your faucet to run until you’re sure the water is hot and ready to go.
