"It worked out really well. They were really responsive. When they had questions, they called me right away. I was satisfied. It was a pretty straight forward purchase. The workers that I came into contact with were good."
"I decided to replace my old windows with energy efficient windows. I wanted an attractive window, also. After being swindled by another company, I was looking for a reputable, long standing, solid business. And I found it! I love my new windows!!"
"Ted is awesome! He is so trustworthy and easy to work with. He came out to estimate taking out a gross, rotting bow window and helped us come up with a suitable replacement (we didn't want another bow or bay). To get what I wanted, we had to deviate from the original dimensions, but that was no problem for Ted. He was about to trim out the window so that you would never know we changed the original size! We had to special order what we wanted and after it was delayed, Ted was incredibly flexible with his time to make sure our window went in so we could our house listed. He did a fantastic job and we plan to use him for all of our handyman needs. We will gladly recommend him to everyone we know!"
"Justin and his helper Anthony did a great job remodeling the kitchen in our 100-year-old house. They installed new tile flooring and backsplash, new drywall, new appliances, sink, plumbing, lighting, cabinets, paint and windows. The cost was around $15,000, not including appliances and tile, which we purchased separately. The new kitchen looks fantastic. We couldn't be more pleased. Justin's dad, Mike, built our custom oak cabinets. They are works of art. We were so impressed with Mike's work that we had him build us a couple of other cabinets in a separate job. They were here on time every day until the project was finished. It took about two weeks. Overall, the job came in on time and on budget. Due some supply delays -- the windows came in late and we had to order another box of backsplash tile -- Justin did have to come back a few days later and finish those details. The cost was reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. Justin is professional, courteous and highly skilled. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
"We had our porch replaced by Premiere Exterior Solutions and Richard did a great job. The craftsmanship was impressive and it was done in no time. Thank you!"
The average shutter is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Proper maintenance for the type of shutters you have is essential for helping them reach their full potential.
The most popular estate shutter brands include Hunter Douglas, Budget Blinds®, and Graber®. Hunter Douglas shutters cost $20 to $26 per square foot and include high-quality hardwood and faux wood options. Budget Blinds shutters cost $20 to $24 per square foot, depending on if you choose natural wood or another material. Depending on the material, Graber shutters range from $18 to $24 per square foot.
Wood is the most classic shutter material. Common options include pine, cedar, or brasswood. MDF shutters are also a more affordable option that retains the timeless, classic look. Composite shutters, mainly vinyl and aluminum shutters, have also become more popular over the years. You may also find steel shutters, sometimes referred to as security shutters, used on the exterior. Shutters also come in various colors and finishes, adding another layer of design flexibility.
Plantation shutters cost an average of $2,990, making them one of the pricier shutter options. However, they offer a 75% return on your investment and are great options for boosting curb appeal and property value. Most people go for plantation shutters for their timeless, vintage look. They also provide the strongest light blocking and temperature control for your home.
Shutters are still very common in Southern, farmhouse, and traditional-style homes, especially those in warm climates who can benefit from the increased efficiency. While modern homes and designs tend to shy away from shutters, shutters are a timeless design style that will likely be around for decades to come.
