"Definite Quality Painting did a great job on my wallpaper! Professional crew, very polite, and were able to fit in my job almost immediately. Unfortunately, I didn't order enough wallpaper and had to go buy more, but they were willing to come back to finish the job. They didn't ask for more money even though they had to make another trip (but we made it right) and I think that shows a lot on their personal character. I would highly recommend them for wallpapering needs."

"Jim called me back the same day and stopped by to give an estimate for all the work to be done. He was fair and reasonable. He always showed up on time and was fastidious about calling if he had a change to his schedule so I could plan my day. He did excellent work and finished on the day he said he would. What a relief to have quality work performed ON TIME and at a great price from a responsible professional. He really cared about doing a good job, was friendly and flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend him."

"After some confusion connecting with each other which was probably my fault, a date was set and they no called no showed.  Once we reconnected, the explanation was poor communication on their end and a previous job ran long.  Once rescheduled again the work was done to my satisfaction.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. However, if you experience issues with the tile peeling or falling off, make sure the wall you’re working on isn’t textured, as that can prevent the materials from properly adhering.

Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.

It is less costly to paint than wallpaper when you only consider the upfront cost. Wallpaper costs $320 to $820 when applied by a pro, while paint only costs $200 to $700 per room. However, when comparing wallpaper versus paint, consider the long-term as well. Wallpaper can save you money over time since it has a much longer life span than paint.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.
