"Buster immediately responded to my initial inquiry for chimney repairs and provided a free estimate to replace deteriorate chimney bricks. He was prompt to arrive on the scheduled day, did an excellent job of removing the bad brick and matching the new brick so you could not tell that the old bricks had been replaced and did a wonderful job of clean up when the work was completed. I am a retired commercial real estate property manager having worked with numerous commercial exterior restoration contractors in the past. In reviewing his work I'd recommend Buster to anyone who needs chimney repairs ."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While both jobs go hand-in-hand when decluttering your home, professional organizers and cleaners do different jobs. A professional organizer will look at the project and set up the space to maximize it with storage and functional efficiency. A cleaner might do some organizing in the home, but their main task is to make sure it remains clean and free of garbage. If you want to put everything in its place, hire an organizer. If you want sparkling floors and dust-free surfaces, hire a cleaner.

Yes, you will need to scrub every surface in your home after using a bug bomb to remove the chemical residue. You’ll need to scrub everything with soapy water at least two times, better yet three times, to enhance the protection of your furniture and other home items.

One of the best ways to prepare for a home biohazard cleanup is not to touch anything. Do not remove belongings, even if they are of value or importance, from the area as they are likely contaminated. It’s essential not to use any cleaning products of your own, as the cleaning company will be using chemicals that could interact with your products.

One thing you can do to prepare is take pictures of your space and belongings that need to be cleaned, especially if you plan on filing a claim with your insurance company. In addition, take time to make a list of items that are valuable, sentimental, or otherwise important. The cleanup company must evaluate these belongings to make sure they are safe.

If you’re hiring someone to clean an empty and tidy house before you move in, there’s little prep work to do. Make sure to discuss your goals with the cleaning service, arrange entry to the house, and communicate any problem areas or special requests. If you’ve already moved into the house, or if it’s messy, it’s best to complete the following tasks before the cleaners arrive:

  • Declutter things like clothes, toys, or cardboard boxes

  • Do the dishes

  • Put fragile items in a safe spot where they can’t be accidentally broken

  • Keep pets away from cleaning areas

Black faucets aren’t difficult to clean, but keeping them clean may be challenging. Dirt, dust, toothpaste, and water spots may show up on the faucet, but a quick wipe with a damp cloth will bring the finish back to its original beauty. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes as they could scratch the finish.
