"I have used the Leaky Cellar several times to address foundation leaks in my home. The service comes with a lifetime warranty and I have been pleased with the work performed. In Spring of 2016 I contacted the Leaky Cellar due to a modest leak from a storm in an area they had previously repaired (warranty support). Staff on site were pleasant and professional and performed the repair quickly. Shortly after they left I noticed that they had dripped product on carpet in my basement hallway and stairwell when they exited. This unfortunate situation was addressed by the Leaky Cellar owner (Kevin) by funding the cost of replacing the carpet in the impacted areas. I could not of asked for anything more. To me this illustrates a level of commitment to good service and customer satisfaction that deserves to be shared."

"The team did great both waterproofing the exterior of our basement wall as well as regrading the exterior landscaping to assure better drainage away from the house. Billy and his team were punctual, always polite, and quick to respond. They took extra care to make sure nearby landscaping stayed in tact - something small that made a big difference once all was said and done. They were transparent if any issues arose and took care of things quickly. Very happy with the whole experience."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

Environmental considerations include native plant selection, wildlife habitation, erosion prevention measures, and managing water runoff patterns to protect the lakefront ecosystem.

A rock garden can last indefinitely as long as you properly maintain it. Whether solely made of rocks or with greenery incorporated, they generally last a while, though it may vary based on your climate.
