"Did an excellent job installing new guttering & gutter guards. Showed up on time and let the site free of any debris. Price was very reasonable and fair. Definitely would use them again!"

"We had John come to clean out the gutters on the back side of our house. It was a really small, insignificant project but John treated it like it was much more important than it was! What a breath of fresh air! He was prompt, professional, personable, good communicator and knew his stuff. I would recommend John in a heartbeat.....wish I could give 6 stars!"

"Hollon landscaping and Lawn Care is an excellent organization and I would highly recommend them, and have, to friends and family who are also very happy with their work. Benson and his crew took my yard that was covered with mulch(yes the whole backyard), removed the mulch, added pavers around my fire pit, paver walks to my raised gardens, steps down to my driveway and beautiful dark green grass through out the yard. All his hard work and creativity made my backyard a livable space to entertain in. Benson is honest, hardworking, and never fails to do a great job!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Snowblowers come in three different sizes: first-, second-, and third-stage blowers. Each additional stage is larger with higher intakes, more powerful, and has more gear options.

A first-stage blower, also called a snow thrower, is usually best for snow 6 to 8 inches or below. Electric snow blowers are usually only available in this size. If you regularly get snow that’s well above six inches, consider a second-stage snow blower. If snowstorms dump 2 to 3 feet of snow repeatedly during winter, you need a third-stage snow blower to tackle it.

When it comes to deciding whether a two-stage or three-stage snow blower is better, you must consider the amount of snowfall you get, the size of the area, and your budget.

A three-stage snow blower is more efficient at clearing higher volumes of snow quicker and removing ice build-up. It’s ideal for commercial use and removing snow from large areas. Make sure to compare various types of snow removal equipment to ensure you purchase the one that is best for your needs.

Services include plowing, shoveling, salting, and de-icing for parking lots, walkways, and entrances.

In most cases, it is best to leave icicles on your roof and allow them to melt naturally. You should only remove them if they are heavy enough to cause damage to your home or pose a safety risk to people below. Attempting to remove icicles yourself can be dangerous, so if you are concerned about immediate damage, it is recommended to hire a professional. To prevent icicles from recurring, you should address the underlying cause, which is often poor insulation. Long-term solutions include improving your home's insulation or installing roof heating coils.

Leaving a significant amount of snow on your roof can be risky. Most roofs are designed to handle about 20 pounds per square foot of snow, but exceeding this limit can lead to a roof collapse. A collapse can cause severe damage to your home and belongings and poses a physical danger to anyone inside. Furthermore, heavy snow accumulation increases the risk of ice dams, which can cause leaks and water damage to your roof, attic, and interior walls.
