"We had John come to clean out the gutters on the back side of our house. It was a really small, insignificant project but John treated it like it was much more important than it was! What a breath of fresh air! He was prompt, professional, personable, good communicator and knew his stuff. I would recommend John in a heartbeat.....wish I could give 6 stars!"

"Mike did a great job, as always, even though we are tough customers. My wife wanted PVC trim under the new gutters so we never have to deal with rot again. It's floppy stuff especially when you are up 2 stories.  But Mike's crew got it up there quickly and mitered and caulked the joints to prevent water from getting in.  The new seamless guttering they put up looks great, including the 5 new 3x4 downspouts.  I definitely recommend Mike and his crew if you're looking for seamless guttering.

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Schedule regular snow removal, apply salt or sand to icy areas, and mark hazards like curbs or drains.

It is a bad idea to try to walk on a roof with snow on it. In fact, you should stay off your roof all year long, even when it is dry and sunny outside. There are too many things that can go wrong, and one misstep can cause serious injury or even death.

Rather, if you need to get something done on your roof, call in a pro. They have the right experience and know-how to get things done safely on a snowy roof, including snow removal.

Ice dam removal costs anywhere from $650 to $2,000, with most people paying about $1,200 for this service. The price you pay will depend on a few factors, including the removal method. If your pro uses salt or tablets to get rid of the ice dams, you might only pay $200 to $300. But if they use steam, your costs could increase to $800 to $1,200.

Costs range from $50 to $150 per hour, depending on the property size and service frequency.

Some commercial services use sand when clearing ice, but that’s to add instant traction, not to melt the ice. While you can scatter kitty litter, sand, or similar substances on steps, paths, or porches to improve safety during icy conditions, they won’t help melt hardened ice. Rely on salt or other de-icing methods to fully melt away stubborn ice.
