One man show so I can't do huge projects but I can do up to small buildings and remodels. Larger jobs may require incremental payments as the job progresses, also known as draws. I have 30 years experience working with my hands with 10 of that being self employed. My main trade was fabricating electric signs in Orlando, FL with my crowning achievement being the main signs for Disney so I know quality. I was a landlord for several years. The family business is Auto Repair which I also schooled for and I hold a certificate of competency for Auto Body. I'm a family man who purchased 8 acres in Cherryville to build us a little homestead on starting from scratch with a piece of woods.

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

Wood, metal, and plastic are common materials. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and maintenance needs.

Yes! It’s always a good idea to anchor your playset. Even though they’re heavy, it doesn’t take much wind to blow one over. Anchoring everything to the ground makes it a lot safer for your kiddos.

Children can become interested in playset activities as young as two years old, and many start to lose interest between ages nine and 12. Backyard playsets can grow and adapt as the children age and playtime interests change.

Rubber mulch is widely considered the best material to place under a playset. This material option provides more cushioning than traditional wood mulch for added protection, remains cooler than sand and most other materials in direct sunlight, and it’s low maintenance. Rubber mulch is slightly more expensive than other common options at $120 per cubic yard on average, whereas pine bark mulch is $30 per cubic yard. But when it comes to your children’s safety, the investment is worthwhile. Consult your playground equipment installation company about material recommendations before starting this project.

The average lifespan for a playset is around eight to ten years, but you can probably make it last to 15 years with good weather conditions and proper maintenance. If you’re purchasing a pre-made playset, some brands offer warranties for up to 25 years—long after your kiddos are grown.
