"Casey did an excellent job, from start to finish. He was very timely, replaced siding on whole west end of house plus many holes from hail damage. He cleaned up everything and took it away, leaving my yard looking like it was before he started. I highly recommend this honest young man for any project you might have."

"Preston and Heidi did a fantastic job painting for us. We hired them to paint our babyâ s nursery and it turned out beautifully. They were both very respectful of our time and our home and the job was finished right on time. Highly recommend!"

"Ted came out to the house and gave us an estimate, and then kept in touch over the two weeks until the scheduled date for the work.  He arrived promptly, and immediately began the repairs.  He installed a very nice area of tile inside our lower level's outside door - no more muddy shoes on my carpet!  He also repaired two doors, and fixed the baseboard trim in one of our bathrooms.  The project took several days, as mastic had to dry before grout could be installed.  Ted was prompt every day, cleaned up the area he was working in, and clearly communicated what would need to happen next.
Ted also provided a detailed list of what supplies he would need, as his quote was for labor.  He was very prompt at answering my questions about the supplies.
We are thrilled with the results - and highly recommend Ted.  He is very easy to work with and did a great job.  He will be the first person we call for the next job that comes up!

"Tom was very friendly. Showed up on time and did some repairs of defects we needed repaired before selling our home. Tom was very friendly and even charged a bit less than he estimated the job at. I would highly recommend him!"

Window Shutter Repair questions, answered by experts

The most popular estate shutter brands include Hunter Douglas, Budget Blinds®, and Graber®. Hunter Douglas shutters cost $20 to $26 per square foot and include high-quality hardwood and faux wood options. Budget Blinds shutters cost $20 to $24 per square foot, depending on if you choose natural wood or another material. Depending on the material, Graber shutters range from $18 to $24 per square foot.

Not all windows are suitable for shutters, as certain styles can prevent them from functioning correctly. It's best to avoid installing shutters on bay windows, picture windows, dormer windows, and double-mulled windows. Shutters are better suited for large, full-size standard windows or French doors.

Additionally, consider the room's lighting needs. Since shutters effectively block light, they are an excellent choice for rooms where you want more darkness and privacy, such as a master bedroom or a main living room. For window types that are not ideal for functional shutters, some homeowners choose to install fixed (non-functional) shutters to maintain a consistent look across the home.

Wood is the most classic shutter material. Common options include pine, cedar, or brasswood. MDF shutters are also a more affordable option that retains the timeless, classic look. Composite shutters, mainly vinyl and aluminum shutters, have also become more popular over the years. You may also find steel shutters, sometimes referred to as security shutters, used on the exterior. Shutters also come in various colors and finishes, adding another layer of design flexibility.

Shutters are still very common in Southern, farmhouse, and traditional-style homes, especially those in warm climates who can benefit from the increased efficiency. While modern homes and designs tend to shy away from shutters, shutters are a timeless design style that will likely be around for decades to come.

The average shutter is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Proper maintenance for the type of shutters you have is essential for helping them reach their full potential.
