"This crew was fast, friendly and professional . Very little inconvenience and took the time to double check their work and ensure I was happy with the sliding glass door and all the features. Had to clean up a bit outside but not bad and one of the guys even did some vacuuming. Very happy with my experience and was worth the wait."

Small jobs welcome

"The good: They installed a good looking window for a good price. The bad: They did not tarp off the basement very well, even after I mentioned the lack of coverage. I had to scramble to hang my own plastic tarp and cover furniture as mud and dirt flew all over the basement. The sump-pump has no visible exit/drainage. As far as I know, it just will back up and drain into the window well. I have asked 5 different times & provided days I will be home for someone to come and show me how/where it drains out. I have gotten no resolution. The dirt all started to wash away around the egress window. Again, I provided dates and times when I will be home for them to add dirt and they never showed. I ended up buying dirt myself. I also bought a plastic cover for my well from Menards. The fact I do not know where/how sump pump drains out I wanted to protect myself from debris and flooding. This company installed the window and looks good. But the fact they do not care to address the little issues that have happened, makes me concerned they would not bother with the big issues if they happen. I wanted a complete basement finish. I hired them for the egress window to start. I will not hire them for the complete finished basement."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The cost of adding glass to your kitchen cabinet doors depends on the number of cabinets, type of glass, and labor costs. Glass typically costs between $5 to $20 per sheet and you can expect to purchase complementary hardware materials for $2 to $50 each. If you’re hiring a cabinet professional to install glass in your cabinet doors, ask them for a specific estimate before hiring.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.

Despite their popularity and modern styling, glass railings have a few drawbacks. The first is their high initial cost. While they cost little to maintain, they can be costly to install. Also, scratches and chips in the glass are highly visible and require repairs. Additionally, glass railings require frequent cleaning to maintain their good looks.

Yes, WD-40 can remove stickers from glass thanks to its chemical properties that can break down adhesives. Be sure to wear protective gloves when handling WD-40. Spray the window or glass item, and let it sit for 10 minutes before scraping it with a plastic scraper or credit card.

Broken glass cannot usually be recycled. Most recycling programs state that glass must be intact in the form of bottles or jars in order to be recycled. You may be able to recycle broken glass at a drop-off recycling facility—contact the facility to see if they accept broken glass.
