"Michael, Tommy & Aiden did a fantastic job removing our separate shower and bathtub and converting the tub space into a walk in shower. The guys were respectful, and helpful with any questions we had. They kept us informed with each step of the way. They cleaned up before the job was over and went over instructions. Highly recommend Jaccuzizi and this crew."

"Outstanding job. Quick and efficient. Came to give me an estimate the next day and two days later, my walk-in shower was installed. I had to replace a tub/shower combination due to cracks on the flooring and leaking water and I chose to replace it with a walk in shower. It is really nice and I love it."

"Mark has remodeled two of our bathrooms so far and we absolutely love having him in our home. He demonstrates professionalism and non-biased advisement and execution in his work. He is flexible in making changes throughout the process (within reason) and does this without underlining mannerisms, but openly guides us and creates reasonable solutions to problems he encounters throughout the process. We love having Mark in our home, we genuinely trust him and our pets love his honest attention. Mark continually surprises us by displaying this above and beyond attitude that is followed through within his day to day work. He is absolutely exceptional, we would refer him to any one of our friends and those that we care for!"

"Secondary upstairs bathroom with old plumbing and electric service updated to a modern space anyone would be happy to use. All plumbing, electric and fixtures replaced. Glass block wall cracked over last 50 years and was replaced with an obscured picture window. Humidity control connected to the fan. Nice vanity with electric and USB ports. This is our second Dana King project. They are not cheap but they are prompt, respectful, do great work and finish on time. I feel comfortable that they will lock up when done and be respectful of my home. They care about your house not just your project-my front door knob had been broken (still locked) for 15 years and they noticed it and Meg the designer found another one that worked. During the flood, Greg (the project manager) saw me struggling with a leak and carried water to help. The people I have worked with on both projects (kitchen and living room 2 years ago) just go a step beyond the expectation. Greg noticed the baseboard delivered did not match the other upstairs baseboard and took it back and found a match. Greg can be in your home working and you can almost forget he is there-he is a favorite."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

While they’re heavier than their counterparts, cast-iron tubs are very simple to maintain. They have no seams and are durable, making them the easiest tub to maintain. While fiberglass and acrylic tubs are also relatively simple to maintain, they often have seams, making maintenance a little more difficult.

If you have an alcove in your bathroom, you don’t necessarily need to install an alcove tub. You can choose a drop-in tub and fit the frame to the alcove. This allows you to get a more custom or spa-like look. Think cultured marble or tiling for the frame versus the simpler look of acrylic or fiberglass with an alcove tub.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.
