"

I bought a chimney sweep big deal and it went well. It cost more than the price of the big deal due to the repairs they made. The guys that did it were just a little bit weird. They were kind of socially awkward. They had some difficulties communicating.

"Called in claim on 6/18; tech assigned on 6 /19; so far so good. Claim was for failed well pump with NO water to my home with two disabled seniors. Due to heavy workload and no extra pay on weekends the tech came for diagnostics 4 days later. He verified the failed pump and tried to purchase one at Home Depot. None in stock, had to be ordered. Pump came in on 6/30 and tech arrived today, 7/1, and expertly installed the new pump. Choice has a $ 500 limit on well repair, which is 1/3 of a typical bill. That dollar cap is riduculous. On a positive note, C-Force provides expert work for Choice and would be my choice for any future work."

"Dale is terrific. I was immediately impressed by his knowledge of my situation, and felt like I had a partner in figuring out what needed to be done. I was on borderline warranty situation so he helped me advocate for a replacement by the company (which ultimately didn't work, but that's only because Zoeller is tight on their warranty policy). Realizing I needed to replace the pump, Dale only charged for an installation and not for the diagnosis. That was helpful. He found a way to get us up and going quickly, even though he had other jobs underway. I was really pleased with the work. If you have a problem with your sewer lines, septic or any pump systems, Dale at HS Sewer & Drain is the guy to call. I have no doubts about making that recommendation."

"I went to a home show. I found that they did basements and insulation. It is an interesting combination. Two people came to do the work. Another company had come in the morning to do the gutter job. The gate to our backyard looked as if it was closed but it must have been ajar. The little dogs escaped. I heard the insulation work stop and one gentleman come down. I did not hear anything for a while so I went outside to check. They had seen the dogs get away. They were out on the street stopping traffic. They helped to catch the dogs so that they would not get hurt. Then they went on with their work. I could not believe it. They were fantastic. They had a little trouble with the paperwork. They went above and beyond to make everything work. They were trying to put through everybody on the list, keyed as a programme, in order the get the insulation put onto the gas stove. They had trouble with the forms and it took a little while to get that all worked out. Once they did that, it was okay. Overall, we had a really good experience with them. They were really nice guys. They worked really hard. I was very pleased with them. Further, they helped to catch the dogs though it was not their fault. They had not left the gate open. I am going to recommend them to a friend of mine. She was waiting to see how it would turn out. I am going to let her know. They try to do as many jobs as they can in one day. I was going to suggest to them how they could make their own life easier by having a checklist which they make up for themselves based on the jobs lined up for the day. This would ensure that they have all the things they need for the day?s jobs when they set out in the morning. This way they would not run short of anything. I do this when I have to do some thing. They had heard me complain about how hot and cold my bedroom got. We were doing insulation inside the walls. So they put a little extra insulation and did not charge us extra for that."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

When considering the price of drilling a well, factor in how much you’ll save in water costs per year. The average family of four uses 100 gallons of water per person per day in the U.S. With a private water well, you can save hundreds each year.

Wells are also environmentally friendly. You don’t need to worry about drinking water treated with chemicals. Talk to at least three well pump contractors in your area. They’ll be able to tell you more about your options, give you different quotes, and discuss the biggest concerns.

Through testing for pH, bacteria, and contaminants, ensuring safe consumption.

How do you set your well’s pressure tank? All you need to do is first drain the tank of water and find the pressure switch. Remove the switch cover and adjust the switch with a wrench—clockwise to increase water pressure, and counter-clockwise to reduce it. Each complete turn of the nut on the switch should equal 2.5 psi. Once this is done, replace the switch cover. All that’s left is to adjust the pressure of the tank itself using an air compressor and a tire gauge to support the new setting.

If you notice any changes to the water coming from your well, consider that a sign to get a well inspection. For example, if the water is foul-smelling, bad-tasting, cloudy, or discolored, you should call a pro. It’s also a good idea to schedule an inspection if you observe a loss of water pressure, broken equipment, loss of well capacity, or other unusual signs.

Age is certainly a factor in well pump failure. The older your pump, the more likely it is to fail.

Beyond age, other factors can cause your well pump to fail, too. Things like poor water quality can cause sediment buildup in your pump. Without proper cleaning, your pump can seize up and fail. Having a dry well for too long can also cause your pump to fail, as it keeps working even though there's no water for it to pull.
