"Excellent! I love JT Dunn Heating and Cooling. We selected them out of 5 different contractors to install our brand new furnace and conditioner in 2017 and we hadn't had a problem since. We just had a 3 year tune-up and nothing was wrong and the ac is quietly humming away outside. Thanks to employee Robert Fitzgerald for coming out today and doing a awesome job and keeping us as customers!"

"Andrew arrived on time, quickly inspected the furnace and explained clearly the situation, with options. Repairs were done quickly and to my satisfaction. Cost was reasonable and I would recommend to anyone needed furnace or AC repairs."

"Sam was great. Had a extremely dirty system that would not function correctly or blow cold air. Had High Ridge Heating and Cooling here as he has done work before for me and parents. He took one look and stated we needed to replace entire a/c furnace unit for $3100. Told us it would cost about the same to clean. No way I could afford that so went on Angie's List to find someone and read Sam's review's. He came out and told me the cost at $425 to clean. Which was fantastic. He spent about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and did a wonderful job. Ended up paying total $625 once he was done and asked me before doing anything additional that would cost more. Also since our unit didn't have valves on system to reuse our refrigerant he had to put new in which was part of price increase. Sam, thanks so mich for not trying to take advantage."

"I had a very good experience with All-American. I learned on a Wednesday evening that my fridge was not cooling. I found All-American on Angie's List Thursday morning, and they were able to get to me that afternoon. The technician assessed the problem, went out to acquire the part, and repaired my fridge that after noon. My only problem is that I did not receive an itemized receipt, which I think is important. I would have liked to have known the cost of the part and the cost of labor. I am a stickler for that because I think women get taken advantage of, but I was working and my sister received him; so I didn't see the receipt until I returned home late evening. Otherwise, I am a very satisfied customer."

"Austin was very prompt calling me and was very courteous on the phone. He arrived on time and explained and showed me what happened and gave me options on how he could fix it. I never felt pressured during the process. Very reasonable on pricing too. I would definitely recommend Austin to do any kind of AC/Heating work you need done!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

Some AC filters, known as reusable filters, can be cleaned and reinserted. Most AC filters, however, are disposable and cannot be cleaned.

While all portable AC units will collect moisture as part of their cooling and dehumidifying process, whether and how often you need to drain them depends on what kind of unit you have and the natural humidity levels where you live. For example, if you live in a very dry area and have a self-evaporating unit, you may not need to drain your portable AC very often at all. Some units may automatically drain collected moisture out the window through their exhaust vent.

Yes. Return air vents are responsible for gathering and pulling in the warmer air. Once they draw it in, your system conditions the air by removing the warmer molecules from it, allowing your air conditioner to dispense the cooler air back into your home. Not only does this create a more comfortable environment for you, but it also keeps your air conditioner from overworking, resulting in lower energy bills.

Yes. It's normal for the AC compressor to cycle on and off intermittently in dry mode as it maintains the desired humidity level. The compressor cycles to prevent over-dehumidification and to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. This cycling behavior ensures efficient operation and optimal humidity control, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the dry mode function in your AC system.
