"Excellent work! Beyond my expectations. Mark, the owner, explained everything they do and helped select tile and flooring. James came out and in three days the bathroom was totally transformed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. The house is going on the market shortly and I think this gorgeous bathroom will help to sell it sooner. Contemporary Refinishing are real pros at what they do. Thank you, guys, you're the best."

"Smooth as could be from call to completion.  For $279 (Angie's List deal) they came in and reglazed our nasty old tub to a sparkling white new finish.  It was fast, too. Our old tub had been flaking and chipping - it looks BRAND NEW.  The one note of caution that I would say is the smell is AWFUL.  Thankfully, we have an attic fan and a bathroom fan.  It took about 2-3 days before going into the bathroom didn't knock you out. :)  The installer cautioned not to use bathmats on the tub anymore, since they could suction up the coating I guess.  There are options for non-slip aids though.

"I had another plumber check my leak under the kitchen sink and I was told that I needed a new gabage disposal. I bought the garbage disposal and they installed it. A month later- same leak. J&E came out and said they barely screwed the disposal in- which is why it was leaking. Lesson learned, don't use a provider not on Angie's List!!!!"

"I contacted several plumbers this day and Mr. Craig was the only one that returned my call. Once I told him the problem he told me a time and a price and he was there to fix the problem. I really appreciated the fact that he was on time and very professional. I would definitely be using this company again."

"I'm so happy with the service! My 22x29 ft basement had water damage, there were storage boxes stuck to the basement floor. George and his assistant were able to remove all damaged items, including large furniture and mattresses, in 2 hrs. They had their own vehicle so I didn't have to worry about disposal. 12 years of junk has been removed and I can now see my basement floor. I appreciate the professionalism and the reasonable rate!"

"If I could give more stars I would. I can't tell you how grateful I am to this company and especially the owner, Silvio. St. Louis experienced temperatures that were record breaking over the holidays and I had 2 pipes that burst right near Christmas Eve. I initially had a plumber that came on an emergency visit to fix the one pipe along with Roto Rooter, but then needed assessment and repair to the upstairs bathroom. I called Flow King from Thumbtack, on New Years Eve hoping to make a future appointment, and he came that day! He as able to hear where the water was leaking from, therefore pinpointing the place of the break WITHOUT pulling my heavy double sink vanity from the wall that would have created additional expense. He was able to replace the broken piece of the pipe without much invasion, determine that my water heater was old and creating sediment and calcium to settle which was causing previous slow water flow and hot water that wasn't sustainable. He understands and complies with insurance. He communicated in writing what was done, and what needed to be done due to the damage of the pipe and within days had a crew out to replace the water heater. The faucets were also needing to possibly be replaced due to damage and he worked with me to get something similar and the best price. He took his time to pick up the faucets and came the next day to follow up and see how the water heater was performing and after removing the calcium deposits and sediment that was flowing through my water, he saw that the current faucets worked fine after he cleaned them. Silvio saved me the money of two new faucets. His extensive knowledge is unmatched and his attention to details is incredible. His crew were respectful and trustworthy! Silvio also communicates thoroughly via phone and text to make sure I understood what he saw and what needed to be done with the most safe and economical process. He even sent me a video of the water flow that was now coming out after he knew to drain and clean them, whereas before he arrived, there was none. I highly recommend Silvio and Flow King Rooter! He cares about his customers and works 24/7 regardless of holidays. Good plumbers are very hard to find and trust. Silvio has an outstanding reputation that I can attest to. And he loved my two big dogs which is always a plus! Thank you Flow King Rooter!"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use flexible pipe for a sink drain. Flexible pipes can make it easier to fit sink plumbing together with less measuring and fewer cuts. However, corrugated flexible pipe can trap hair, grease, and food particles in the folds and cause foul odors and eventually build up enough to clog the drain. Smooth pipes are recommended for sink drains and plumbing.

Depending on the issue and materials, costs range from $150 to $500.

The average cost to hire a plumber is typically between $45 and $200 per hour, with a common average rate around $125 per hour. This cost can vary based on your location, the plumber's experience, and the complexity of the job. Rates are often broken down by experience level: an apprentice may charge $45 to $90 an hour, a journeyman $60 to $110 an hour, and a master plumber $80 to $200 an hour. While hourly rates are standard, some plumbers may charge a flat fee for routine projects or offer project-based pricing. It's also common for plumbers to charge a minimum service or trip fee. For reference, some typical flat-rate costs for common jobs include: drain unclogging ($220), leaky faucet repair ($270), burst pipe repair ($400), toilet repair ($300), and water heater repair ($600). Note that these rates are for standard service hours; emergency, holiday, and after-hours calls will cost significantly more.

Installation typically takes 1-3 days, while repairs can be completed in a few hours to a day.

The best material to use will depend on your budget and style goals. Fireclay is a great choice but is expensive and heavy. Stainless steel is less expensive and more durable, but lacks the wow factor a clay sink might. Copper is very expensive but lasts a long time and has a striking appearance. Those looking for an industrial look can go with concrete, or those looking for a classic design might choose porcelain.
