"Footprint Floors did great. Shea checked in several times during the week long process and was always available for a text or call. Dillon, the installer seemed very detail oriented and wanted the flooring to be as exact as possible, from the actual vinyl to the trim that he replaced. I am waiting in a few transition pieces and 4 more boxes of vinyl as I was short when I ordered but with most of the flooring done, I am very pleased with the job done and the vinyl overall."

"I would recommend N-Hance to anyone in a heartbeat. Our antique (built 1939) cottage had *very* worn and scraped up wood floors. NHance gave us affordable options to give our floor some TLC and extra protection and the results were beautiful. I'd hire them in a heartbeat to refinish all the wood doors and cabinets in our home if I could."

"The floors were difficult to sand and lots of hard work was put into the project. The end result is perfect. And the price was reasonable . I will hire Ethan again if we ever need more floor work done."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

Yes, they assess topography and potential risks related to flooding.

Measure from zero on a measuring tape by placing the metal hook right up against the edge of what you need to measure. You can also latch the hook onto an open edge—of, say, a table—to accurately measure as well. If you begin at the 1-inch mark, you'll need to subtract an inch from your total.

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.
