"John and Peter did a wonderful job! Installed soffit / Trim / siding and ceiling metal at our 3 porches. The work included outlets and switches for exterior lighting. They also installed several 45 degree Diagonal supports on our porch columns as architectural features. Super easy to work with and cleaned up after every day. Would hire again without a second thought - VERY detail oriented."

"No complaints about the work he did for me. He accommodated the changes I made during the project. When he was about half way done with the hallway, I had him stop because I didn't like the way it looked, and went out and purchased what was needed to finish the work. He never complained about me stopping him, and he was appreciative of me mentioning something before the work was complete. He provided an excellent quality job. Overall they are a very good company and I was very pleased with his expertise. I have recommended them to others and I will use them again when needed."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

No, but removing window screens will achieve a deeper clean. If you aren’t sure how to remove your screens, you can still clean them while in your window. You can follow the same cleaning steps, but you may not be able to get into corners or struggle to clean the entire screen if the window is up high.

While the telltale signs can vary for different types of screen doors, it may be time to learn how to install a screen door if you're noticing rotting, warping, or splintering accompanying the sagging. If you’re unsure whether to replace a sagging screen door, consult a local screen door pro for an inspection and final decision.

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

The most affordable way to screen in a porch is to add a base track system to an existing wooden frame. The whole process should cost around $2,000 for supplies, depending on the size of your porch. It’s much pricier to build a screened-in porch or sunroom from scratch—and you’ll probably need to hire a contractor for a project like that.
