"It went fabulous! Our kitchen looks incredible thanks to Kevin and Ron of Mid America Refacing. The service was exceptional and the quality was superb. This is not your run of the mill company. We received numerous bids from other companies and we believe we received the fairest bid from Mid America Refacing. Kevin has the patience of Job and his employee Ron is awesome. They arrived on time everyday, they respected our home by laying out cardboard the entire stretch of their walkway. They cleaned their entire work area everyday, they made sure to close the door as they came in and out. They didn't cut any corners. When a leak was discovered with my water vales, Kevin fixed it at no additional cost. I truly wish Mid America Refacing services went beyond kitchen refacing because I would hire them to do all our home repairs and updates. They were a gift from God and I am so delighted we went with Mid America Refacing. I am 100% confident no other company out there could have delivered the same level of care, attention to detail and quality work than that provided by Mid America Refacing."

"Matt arrived on time and was efficient at replacing floor tiles. Do you think customer service is gone, well so did we until Matt Hemingway came to replace three broken tiles. He finished in 90 minutes and that included going back to hardware store for a different color grout because he didn't like the way it looked. When done you could not tell the floor had been fixed. Excellent job. Highly recommend."

"They were very professional. They came in matched my color to the cabinets perfectly. If you want a big project that involves your kitchen cabinets refacing I highly recommend The Home Depot. I never went to the store everything was done in my house. Great Job."

"We hired Master Remodel & Construction after our master bathroom, kitchen and garage suffered major water damage after an interior flood caused by an overflowing toilet. Brian Inkley (owner) and Jacob Quick (project manager) have a team of dedicated, talented professionals. They did a superb job in restoring our damaged house. They are a busy team of workers who kept us appraised of their availability for the various stages of our restoration. For the repairs that they didn't do themselves they had excellent recommendations for the professionals we needed such as the carpet installation, closet system installation, kitchen cabinets and the refinishing of our hardwood floors. They seem to be in demand, working at several projects at the same time but we always felt that we were their top priority. Jacob worked with our homeowners insurance adjuster to be sure that the funds allocated for our losses were enough to complete our projects. We recommend Master Remodel & Construction with pleasure."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Refinishing cabinets requires sanding and restoring them with paint, lacquer, or stain. Refacing cabinets involves removing and replacing existing cabinet doors and hardware. Refacing cabinets can be more costly. Refacing cabinets typically costs between $4,500 to $10,600

A kitchen remodel can be a major undertaking, depending on how much you change. If you’re changing the kitchen layout, you might be tempted to scrap everything and start fresh, but there are a few different ways to save money throughout the process.

  • Keep your existing cabinets and reface or repaint them

  • Consider choosing budget appliances and fixtures

  • DIY when possible, such as painting walls yourself

  • Choose prefabricated cabinets instead of custom cabinetry

  • Choose affordable flooring options where possible

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

Not all refaced cabinets will peel, but they may if they have improperly installed veneer. To avoid peeling, hire a professional with a warranty on their work and materials, or make sure you purchase quality materials and follow all manufacturer-recommended installation instructions.

To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.

Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.
