Zach did a great job on our lawn. He cut, trimmed and blew the clippings so it looked very nice. He was on time and did this on one of the hottest days. I would recommend him for your lawn care.

A standard home lawn mower with sharp blades can handle a thin layer of leaves without issue. You may need to make a couple of passes within several days to mulch leaves down, but your mower shouldn’t struggle. The look of an overwatered lawn is likely the first thing to tip you off. Overwatered lawns don’t look green and lush. They’ll often be yellowed and mushy or appear patchy and thinning.

Most signs of an overwatered lawn are visual; if your grass looks off, the lawn is likely over or underwatered.

There are several possible reasons why your Bermuda grass is not thick, with the biggest reasons being too little water, too much shade, compacted soil, drainage issues, and too few nutrients in the soil. Bermuda grass needs frequent and direct sunlight to stay thick, so thinning grass is likely the result of a lack of sun.

Always do a poop sweep before mowing your lawn. Running your mower over dog waste can be messy, unsanitary, and smelly, and it can spread the poop to other parts of your lawn. Plus, you won’t be able to get it out of the grass (or the mower blades) easily.

Mowing a lawn will, unfortunately, not get rid of clover, and it may even encourage it to flourish. Let your lawn grow to a healthy height of over 3 inches and then set your mower blades no lower than this level. Higher grass will cut out the light that clover loves and discourage it from spreading.
