"We had a broken clay main drain pipe under our concrete driveway. The team was able to find it, dig it up, replace it, and patch the concrete. Our drains are flowing fast and clean now. It was no small job, but the team persisted until it was resolved. We will use this company again if other drain issues occur."

"LJ was Very very helpful. Not like calling the larger companies where you get an operator who just makes an appointment or takes a message. My basement drain by the furnace was clogged & backing up. He gave me some basic tips to help troubleshoot & figure out what was likely going on. I probably fixed it myself after that but I still had him out to clean out the drain because we were going out of town the next day & I didn't want to take any chances. Good guy & I am grateful I connected with him."

"The sink had very thick and longtime build-up that was mostly clogging a big section of pipe and not able to be opened with a "snake". Several feet of pipe had to be removed and replaced. Once the occluded piece was removed, Kyle showed me the ends of the pipe after it was removed and why just trying to shift the caked in debris wouldn't work in this case. I appreciated him showing me (including some photos, as I have a crawl space) along with explaining so I had a better understanding. He was considerate in explanations of the work, wearing a mask, punctuality and in cleaning up after."

"John was very helpful and professional. He returned my calls in a reasonable time and was very clear about what his company did, which is camera diagnostics. This is helpful to find the break or clog and not cause extra cost in labor to dig and find the problem. But not only did he do this, he was able to recommend people who could do the actual repair. Since this was my first need for help since I have moved to this area I did not have a plumber in my phone list. He recommended Alton Sewer in Independence, MO. And Josh is amazing...He came and help in what I felt was short time and was very reasonable with the cost."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You can unclog an AC drain line for free if you already have these household ingredients: water, vinegar, and rags. Alternatively, if you’d rather not deal with the mess, you can hire a pro to clear your drain line. If you go that route, an HVAC service call costs between $100 and $250.

Applying drain cleaner is a common DIY solution to clogged drains, but it can be extremely harmful to your pipes and lead to corrosion and leaks. It is almost always better to try snaking a clog than using a drain cleaner, but the best solution is to hire a professional plumber. They can locate the clog and gauge the severity using a camera system and then decide if using a plumber’s snake, auger, or drain cleaner is the best option to remove the clog and limit damage to your plumbing system.

You should hire a sewer service professional to unclog a main sewer line with tree roots. Tree roots can grow into the main sewer line, and this problem requires a specialized hydro jet, or rooter, that is powerful enough to clear the roots. The tree can also damage the main sewer line, and a professional will need to make repairs or replace the damaged sections. Sewer line replacement costs about $60 to $250 per linear foot.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
