"My experience with Lakeside Concrete and Coating was well above expectation. Two factors ultimately convinced me That I had made the right decision hiring Lakeside Concrete. Factor #1. The father, Stacy, an individual who believed strongly in his product, process, and methodology. Factor #2. The son, Ryan, a tall skinny young man who probably weighed less than a hundred and forty pounds. When Ryan entered the garage and informed me he would be moving items, heavy and large, in preparation for the next day's floor installation. I looked at him and made a joke about his possible inability to do very much. I left the garage and reappeared less than an hour later. I was absolutely shocked at the progress he had made. I could have sworn he had brought help during my absence! He worked like a team of three hundred pound linemen, instead of a tall underweight skinny young man! The next morning he and his crew of two additional men worked at a pace far in advance of my expectations."

"We had Leo Concrete replace a two-car garage floor and also our driveway. We were able to get an estimate quickly and also to get our questions answered before agreeing to the project. I was amazed that they did the entire job in just a little over a day, so the project didn't inconvenience us for a long time. Also appreciated that they came early both days and finished early the second day, several hours before it was expected to rain. Even the noise of removing the old concrete wasn't as bad as I expected. Their price was also better than other companies I talked to. I think this is a longstanding and respected company, and I would recommend them."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Garage floor sealers last anywhere from one to 10 years on average, depending on the type of sealer you use and the traffic it’s exposed to. Acrylic sealers have the shortest longevity, whereas most other options can last anywhere from five to 10 years. If you use an acrylic sealant to protect against stains, reapply every one to two years. Reapply other types of concrete sealers every five years for the best results and maximum protection.

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

To improve the appearance of concrete steps, you can repair any damage, refresh the surface, and add decorative elements. For crumbling, chipping, or broken sections, consider concrete resurfacing or light repair. If the surface is intact but discolored, applying a coat of paint, stain, or concrete sealer can refresh its look; reapplying a sealer every one to two years is recommended for maintenance. For a quick enhancement, you can also add decorative items like potted plants, garden statues, lanterns, or decorative railings to spruce up the area.

Regular cleaning, avoiding harsh chemicals, and periodic resealing extend its lifespan.
