"Gil does excellent work!! He power sprayed and painted (with a sealing paint) the metal roof on our storage building. He replaced some damaged deck boards, power sprayed the entire deck and then painted the entire deck with a paint sealer. He also replaced a strip of wood above a transom window and painted. Gil also installed (2) grab handles in the bathroom area. We were so happy with the results of the completed projects. He also explained the procedures for the projects and the costs. Very easy to work with and honest."

"Eric was not only professional, but he is a perfectionist! If you want a job well done, with an affordable price point, you want ALL AMERICAN POWER WASHING! My roof looked horrible. We were trying to sell our home, and those interested would say " What is that black stuff on your roof?, Do you need a new roof?" We didn't need a new roof, we just needed a professional like Eric, to take off the black mildew that grew on the northside of our roof. I highly recommend ALL AMERICAN POWER WASHING! He is great at cleaning concrete, gutters and even windows! Thank you Eric, for being so thorough and meticulous on making sure I was happy with the job completed. 10 Stars!!!"

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

Before pressure washing, you can spray your deck lightly with a deck cleaning solution made of equal parts oxalic acid and water. Oxalic acid has a brightening effect that will lighten mold stains and return the deck to its original freshly-sawn look. Allow the solution to sit for about 20 minutes before pressure washing so it has time to take effect.

The answer to how often you should pressure wash your house is the same no matter whether your siding is wood, metal, or vinyl. Plan to do a project like this once a year with occasional hand cleanings in between to remove unexpected dirt—like debris from an especially violent storm or droppings from birds flying overhead.

If you’ve looked at power washing before and after photos, you might be wondering if this option isn’t the better cleaning solution for a wood fence. In fact, it just might be, especially if you’re struggling with issues like mold or embedded dirt. Keep in mind that the only difference between these two methods is that power washing uses hot water and pressure washing doesn’t, but sometimes such a small distinction can have a huge impact.

Not always. The answer depends on your specific vinyl siding product. While some manufacturers advise against pressure washing, others recommend pressure washing as long as pressure is kept below a certain threshold.

While power washing isn't a requirement before you stain a fence, it can make the job much easier and faster while reducing manual labor requirements. The stain will not work if the wood is full of dirt and dust, so power washing, sometimes called pressure washing, is a fast and effective way to prepare the wood for staining. Remember that you need to stain or repaint relatively soon after the wood has dried so that there isn’t time for dust and dirt to build up again.
