"Jeff and his guys were great! We had to have quite a bit of maintenance on our existing pond, such as cleaning and re-stacking some of the edges. They also installed a new filtration unit in our waterfall which required a LOT of jackhammering through solid bedrock. Jeff and his crew worked exceptionally hard to get this project done. Jeff was also really informative about the new filtration system, making sure we understood exactly how it worked and what we needed to do. I highly recommend Missouri Pond Company!"

"They did a really good job. They did different types of things for us. Expand a brick wall, got rid of junk along the fence line, trim some hedges, cleaned gutters, and some limb work on trees. They also helped spread out some seed and hay to spread out fertilizer to grow grass."

"I hired Jerry Parrish owner of S&J's Landscaping. I had a concrete walk way around a pool and a patio that I wanted to be removed. I also had a large tree next to a pond that needed to be carefully removed. The tree and concrete needed to be transported from the back of the house to the front. They made sure they took all necessary precautions in protecting my property. Jerry's workers worked continuously in the rain, cold and not the most pleasant conditions. I would hire this firm again."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Natural pools don’t necessarily attract snakes, although there is a chance they could stop by for a quick visit. They’re not likely to stay, however, because there’s nothing for snakes to eat in a natural pool environment. A well-maintained natural pool has clear water, so you should be able to easily spot a snake before diving in.

Whether a natural pool is worth it depends on several factors because they cost more than traditional pools. Many people opt for natural pools because they enjoy swimming in natural bodies of water such as lakes. Also, if you're environmentally conscious, a natural pool is going to be a much more attractive option than a traditional pool.

Moreover, for people with chemical sensitivities, a natural pool is a great solution since the water doesn’t contain chlorine.

In addition to length and width, pond liners also come in various thickness levels. Thickness is measured in mils, a unit of measurement equal to one-thousandth of an inch, with most pond liners ranging from 15 to 60 mils in thickness. The smaller the number, the thinner (and weaker) the liner. To prevent rips and tears, it’s best to choose a pond liner that’s at least 30 mils thick.

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.

After you fill in your pool, you can add trees and plants that help stabilize the soil. You might decide not to fill it in at all and find another use for the sunken area instead. A few ideas include creating a seating area or garden inside the empty pool. Depending on its size, you could create a place to roller-skate or install basketball hoops for an unconventional court.
