BAXTER GARDENS OF CHESTERFIELD

Baxter Gardens completely transformed our backyard with a 12 foot high retaining wall to extend our backyard 25 feet, custom fountain, thoughtfully placed landscape lights, irrigation system and a beautiful woodlands garden landscape plan that took advantage of native trees and shrubs while interspersing some exotic species that are hardy to survive our winters. With a project this big, some challenges naturally arose and Baxter always stepped up to find a good and fair solution.

It was great, beautiful design, excellent installation of the trees and shrubs, fast , tidy and everything was perfect when they left.

Initially, we liked the landscaping plans they came up with and sorting out what to do first with regards to the plants versus irrigation and budget constraints when we hit a personal snafu.  They were very understanding about putting most of our plans on hold while still taking care of mowing and lawn treatments as well as moving a drain pipe to a different location.  We had to contact them frequently about this or that and it took some time and patience since it seems their departments are divided up and possibly independent of each other, but the biggest thing I took away from it all was that they were NOT trying to screw me.  There may be human error on occasion, but it's not with any negative intent, just life happening.  So I am able to trust them - and with being a homeowner, that's HUGE.  So yes, as soon as we are in a better position, we will definitely use them again and would definitely recommend them.

They had a god working crew and they had good customer service. My interaction with them was good and the work they did was good.

Called Baxter Gardens to set up an appointment to discuss some landscaping we wanted in our backyard.  Brian was very prompt in calling me back to set up a time to come to the house. In fact when he called he had time later that day that also fit into my schedule. We met and talked about the look I wanted. He made some suggestions, I asked questions in more detail, he answered my questions, I picked one of his ideas, he made a drawing right then with the detail that I wanted to see and gave me a (fair and competitive) written estimate based on my decisions.  This was only a corner of our backyard we were landscaping which made it easier for him to provide everything right then during our initial meeting (although he was the only landscaper who did this). Brian followed up with email as we discussed a possible additional update that he needed to check on. He kept in touch with me through email answering all remaining questions I had. Brian even came to the house one more time to talk a few things over in person.  It was a pleasure working with Brian. I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and promptness in everything he did!
I was also very pleased with the installation. Brian notified me by email a day ahead before they came. Dustin and Buddy arrived that following morning to do the landscaping along with Brian. I had specifics about plant placement and the plants were placed just as I wanted. Dustin and Buddy worked hard in the 100 degree heat (including shoveling rock) and did an excellent job! I am very happy with the end result. I couldn't ask for it to look any better.
In summary, Baxter Gardens did a wonderful job from beginning to end. Will definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

Baxter Gardens of Chesterfield designed and installed the landscape around our pool. The following spring we contacted them because one of the trees is dying and we wanted it replaced. They came out put a flag on it and said as soon as they get one they would replace it. Well that was 1 year ago. We have contacted them several times, given them pictures of how bad it looks and again, no one ever came with a new tree. They don't return calls.
Also we ask for a bid to landscape an additional bed. They came out, took measurements. That was the last we heard from them. That was at least 2 months ago.
I think it is time to find a new landscape and irrigation company.

They were very neat and meticulous and completed the task in the time stated. The tree and shrubs are doing fine, but I would like to wait till we have better weather to see how they grow.

Chris Weishaar responded immediately to my phone call, and within a couple of days we met to discuss a new landscaping design. I had the design and quote within the week.  There was no charge for the design and estimate; however, we did choose Baxter Gardens for the job as they had the best price, a design that we preferred and they already had a good rating on Angie's List.  (We've dealth with other nurseries in the past and they charge for their design/estimate if you do not go with them - that Baxter Gardens offered this service free of charge was a plus.)  Chris again responded immediately when we wanted to meet to clarify some of the work that would be provided.  Chris was always professional and responsive; he listened to what we wanted and explained with knowledge what would be best and why.  He was very easy to work with and always polite and patient with us as we asked our many questions.
They met their estimated schedule.  Chris called me the day before they were going to start the job, as was promised.  The work crew were all courteous and did a great job.  Chris too was on site a few times during the day.   Bottom line, they did everything as previously discussed - the new plants looked great, they moved existing plants to enhance the new design and make everything symmetrical and attractive, hauled off all the old unwanted shrubs and flowers, they placed our soaker hoses around the plants, mulched over everything to give the finishing touches and cleaned up the total area to give it a great appearance.
In other words, Baxter Gardens made this a good experience from start to finish and I can offer no suggestions as to what I might have wanted to go differently.r R

They came on time and they did good work. I was happy that they cleaned up after themselves. The final project looked good. I would highly recommend them.

We have a pretty large system, covering about 2/3'rds of an acre.  Baxter's employee was very knowledgeable, organized and efficient.  He ran the system to locate the problem areas.  It took three service calls of about three hours each to finish the project.  After each service call he gave me a detailed invoice of what he had done, went over it with me before he left, and told me when he would be back and what he would do next time.

Baxter charges about $80/hour for labor but they waste no time.

They are a very good company. Every time they come out, it is at least $100. They are prompt and accommodating. I need to call them to come and shut down the sprinklers. They are just down the street. They are more expensive than any of the other ones for startup, shutdown and maintenance. They are professional. The quality is very good.

They were professional, friendly did a good job and I liked the follow up.  When t here was a problem they were very, very good in coming back and dealing with the problem.  They were very responsive.  They are expensive.

They were always professional and their prices were fair. They were always very punctual and when they set an appointment they would keep it. I spent about $75 or $78 per call. I would tell a friend or family member that their prices are fair and that they are courteous, prompt, and punctual.

Went well. We had some issues setting up appointment, the phone call almost always went to the voicemail. But then they called us back - and left a message - we called back and voila..it went to their voicemail. Kind of painful to get in touch with a real person in the 'irrigation department'. Anyway, once the appointment was setup, it was smooth. If you don't ask about how much its going to cost us, they won't volunteer the information and I forgot to ask..but no big surprises. The actual service was very professional and very well executed. the serviceman was very nice and did not hurry through like we have seen before with some other service providers. I recommend them.

They are really conveniently located to my house and their rates were competitive before they were just recently raised. They will come do any service needed for a sprinkler and they are prompt. They even designed my landscaping.

They did a great job with the work that they did. Their communication was clear and they were always working and being conscience of their job. We are very impressed with their professionalism and will use them again in the future.

They came and measured everything and estimated the job. We realized the estimate left out some things that needed done, so we called them and they gave a verbal estimate over the phone for those things, which we accepted. We were very satisfied with the work they did. I would highly recommend them.

Company had minor difficulty locating valves that were buried underground. Once the area to be watered was established the company brought in a piece of equipment to cut and bury the new lines. Then they tied the lines together with installation of the actual heads themselves and patched any holes that had been dug up in the yard. The system was tested and I was shown how to operated the timer. Overall we are very satisfied with this work.
