"I was pleased with the work. The owner, Curt Coglizer, was good to work with. Cole was the man in charge of the work and he was also good to work with. Luis painted the outside of our house and did an outstanding job. The Pella windows are good quality. The siding and wood rot repairs were also very well done. Overall, Homeworks did a very professional job. We signed a contract in May of 2018. Because Homeworks was very busy, they were not able to start on our house until April of 2019. The work was completed in June of 2019."

Most cabinetry made for a garage will have special coatings and finishes built to withstand extreme heat and cold, moisture, pest damage, rusting, and dry rot. There are three ways to open the garage door when the power is out. One is to invest in a solar panel and battery system or generator backup power. Another method is to use the quick-release key to disconnect the garage door from the garage door opener. You can also use the key to your house to wait out the power outage and reset the garage door opener once the power returns.

If your garage door key is inside your home and you don’t have a spare key on hand to access your entry points, then call a locksmith.

It’s usually a good idea to use a metal primer before painting a metal garage door, and, even if you do, you’ll need a paint that’s specifically designed to coat metal for the best results. Metal primer helps create a good surface for the paint to stick to your metal garage door, and it will help prevent bubbling, chipping, and peeling after it dries. It’s a bit more expensive to prime your door before painting, but it’s usually worthwhile, as the paint will last longer.

An insulated garage door is a great long-term investment if it’s within your budget. They save energy and give the door year-round usability. In other words, the door pays for itself after a few nasty winters. Most modern garage doors already have a fair amount of insulation, so look into those options if you don’t feel comfortable splurging.
