"They came and looked at the crack and told me that they didn't do that kind of work. That they wanted to install a sump pump to drain off the water. When I said that I didn't want that expense for a minor problem so the inspector left. Nice guy but I didn't have them do any work and I don't know why they would say they completed a project for me when no such project ever took place. I never hired them for any work. I can't say if I would hire them again because I never hired them in the first place. I really can't review work that was never done."

"He was extremely timely. Got the job done quickly and did an excellent job. He added gravel to our driveway and installed a French drain. We are very pleased with the results. He was also priced reasonably."

I was helped with my drain and he was truly understanding to my upset. I got up this morning and did a weeks full of dirty dishes and I have my counters back. Thank you so very much Shannon and Honest Abes. I will definitely be recommending you to anyone who asks for a good plumber."

"Jacob showed up on time, was very professional and friendly. We walked the house and I shared what I needed assessed or completed and we agreed on next steps. Jacob completed the repairs and was happy to share his knowledge and answer questions while he was working, He was non-judgmental about how gunky the sink drain was! :-). Jacob also looked at other issues I had and offered to address them at a reasonable rate. Very kind, professional and resolved all issues the first time!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use hydrogen peroxide to unclog a drain. Instead of using a baking soda and vinegar solution, you can use baking soda with hydrogen peroxide. The process to unclog a drain is the same as with vinegar, but use 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide instead.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

This depends on the location of the blockage. If the blockage is in your home’s system, anywhere in the system, it is your responsibility as a homeowner. Blockages seldom happen because of items or buildup coming from the city, which means it originates in the home. It becomes the city’s responsibility at the exact point your home’s line distributes waste into the city’s system. The exception is if the problem in your home damages the city lines.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
