Customers say: Quick response

"We hired Master Remodel & Construction after our master bathroom, kitchen and garage suffered major water damage after an interior flood caused by an overflowing toilet. Brian Inkley (owner) and Jacob Quick (project manager) have a team of dedicated, talented professionals. They did a superb job in restoring our damaged house. They are a busy team of workers who kept us appraised of their availability for the various stages of our restoration. For the repairs that they didn't do themselves they had excellent recommendations for the professionals we needed such as the carpet installation, closet system installation, kitchen cabinets and the refinishing of our hardwood floors. They seem to be in demand, working at several projects at the same time but we always felt that we were their top priority. Jacob worked with our homeowners insurance adjuster to be sure that the funds allocated for our losses were enough to complete our projects. We recommend Master Remodel & Construction with pleasure."

I am now trying to start a business of my own and trying to establish jobs for myself to get this business started. If you’d like to give me the opportunity, it would be a great pleasure and I will do my best to make you happy as I should as an owner of a company I will get fair prices based on my knowledge of doing it and be completely honest with you before doing it. "A year ago I hired Show Me Granite to install granite counters, an inland and wet bar in my house. Quality and finish of the job was very good and the price was excellent. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the sink that they included in the negotiated price was smaller than I expected. Since the granite was already cut and the overall price was right I did not send it back. Bottom line is I am happy with the work and price."

"We highly recommend 14 Day Countertops in Eldon, MO! The customer service was above and beyond. I was having a difficult time seeing the big picture and they suggested we go to their distributor in Lenexa, KS to see the full slabs. That made all the difference and the folks there were super too! The counter tops were installed within the 14 days by two great guys. They were so respectful and did a fantastic job! You won’t be disappointed by this place!"

"Midtown offered us competitive prices for a complete kitchen gut and remodel, performed the work within 7 weeks, and gave us a gorgeous kitchen with greatly increased functionality. The contractor on the job (Rick) did work of seamless quality and Pat at Midtown coordinated all aspects of the process and stayed in touch with us throughout. Midtown does a large volume of work in our area and has well-established relationships with other companies. They all worked together to get us swatches of materials (cabinetry, tile, granite, backsplash) so that we could make coordinating choices. Their coordinating companies also did a very professional job on the ceramic tile and granite countertop installation, and arranged with us to get a no touch activated faucet and lovely drawer pulls to go with our beautiful new cabinetry. Rob at Midtown helped us to redesign our kitchen for much better functionality and the whole team at Midtown provided us with a gorgeous and much more functional dream kitchen that we're going to enjoy cooking in for many years."

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Marble countertops are often considered better than limestone because of their superior durability and luxurious appearance. Marble is harder and less prone to scratching and denting, though it still requires maintenance and sealing to prevent stains and etching. Marble is typically more expensive, but its beautiful veining and range of colors offer a high-end look.

Undermount sinks have clips that attach to the countertop, but they have pros and cons. They are heavier than drop-in sinks, so they only work with sturdy countertops like natural stone and are a more expensive option. You might need someone to help you install the sink, depending on its weight.

While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we don’t recommend placing hot pots and pans directly on granite countertops. Even if it doesn’t scar the granite, it may damage the sealant.

Corian® is a popular countertop alternative to quartz. Created from an acrylic resin and natural minerals, Corian® resembles quartz and offers some similar benefits, but it comes at a cheaper price. Corian® countertops cost an average of $26 to $65 per square foot, which is less than half of what quartz countertops usually cost. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.

Your morning mug of coffee won’t instantly damage your quartz countertop, but it’s still wise to play it safe. While quartz can handle brief heat, repeated exposure can wear down its finish over time. Using a coaster adds a simple layer of protection and helps keep your surface looking fresh.
