"The team from Timberland was very professional, doing a phenomenal job of trimming the trees and leaving them in much better shape. They cleaned up the job as they went, and left my lawn spotless. They used all the appropriate safety equipment, and removed several large limbs in segments so that the falling debris did not damage the lawn. The crew chipped the branches and debris, and raked the lawn before they left. I will use them again for any of my tree maintenance needs."

Yes, you can excavate in the winter, but it might make the job harder. Frozen ground is harder to dig, and snow or ice can make the work site more hazardous. A contractor may need special equipment and techniques, such as ground-thawing methods, to break through frozen soil. Excavation and grading are both generally necessary for designing your foundation, and leveling the ground where your foundation will go. These steps can also prepare the area by removing vegetation and anything else that could interfere with your home’s foundation.

Excavation is priced in cubic yards, so you’ll need to find the volume of the area in order to calculate costs. Multiply the length, width, and proposed depth of your excavation site, then convert it into yards to get the volume. Multiply this figure by the price per cubic yard.
