We are Kansas City's ONLY Full Service Inspection Company. Your house has it? We can inspect it. When you hire our team, you are hiring an experienced relationship based, in your corner, all in, kind of company. We provide FREE phone consultation for all our clients forever. It is the job of the home inspector to not only evaluate the condition of the house's major systems and structural integrity, but also to evaluate how these systems are working together and identify areas that need to be watched, repaired or replaced. Your home inspector will provide great education and maintenance tips for your future home ownership. Your home inspector gives you the Big Picture analysis with use of forensics and knowledge of the house you are purchasing. If the home inspector identifies the need for a costly, detailed analysis of any of the houses' systems or structures, the inspector will recommend the appropriate professional, which may be an experienced engineer with expertise analyzing that particular system or structure. The need for this kind of expensive, detailed analysis is rare. Hiring a Professional Engineer on your own can be a disappointing experience. The term Professional Engineer does not mean that the individual has training or experience conducting home inspections. Additionally, a home inspection does not involve engineering analysis. Therefore, hiring a Professional Engineer to complete a home inspection undoubtedly costs more, but it may not give you the results you desire and deserve.

"He pretended to be a third party when I had discovered that my roof vents had been put on incorrectly causing moisture to be trapped in my attic which in turn froze when extreme cold weather came and then melted and destroyed every ceiling in my home. This same water that was froze in my attic and melted also destroyed my siding and you could clearly see that it had destroyed my siding from the inside out since there was insulation from the inside of my home mixed with the water that had burst from my interior. With all of these very obvious things that had occurred at the same time Nick decided to ignore everything that I had said and didn't want to look at my pictures of the ice that had formed or my destroyed ceilings and he sided with his buddies at the big corporate roofing company. You can literally go to mocasenet and punch inspectornick.com into the name and pull up lawsuits filed against this company. I wouldn't trust him."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

In most cases, homeowners insurance doesn't cover asbestos abatement. Insurance policies frequently exclude coverage for pollutants, contaminants, and hazardous materials, which include asbestos. It's considered a pre-existing condition in homes built before its ban, so removal is seen as a maintenance expense rather than an insurable loss. There may be an exception if the asbestos-containing materials are disturbed due to a covered event, such as fire or storm damage. Some policies may cover the abatement as a part of those repairs.

The EPA broadly defines hazardous waste as any waste that could pose a danger to humans or the environment. More specifically, it includes any material that could combust or explode under normal temperatures and pressure, as well as materials that are toxic or corrosive. Some common household hazardous waste products include aerosol cans, paint cans, old tires, medical supplies, unused medications, fire extinguishers, cleaning solutions, and lawn care products.

You can cover asbestos siding with another type of siding, such as vinyl, however, this may not be the best option. Covering the asbestos siding may disturb it, releasing fibers into the air. The covered siding can also be disturbed at a later date, such as by a new homeowner who is unaware of its presence.

If you decide to cover the siding, be sure to work with a professional and follow any local building codes and requirements. It may be the case that removing the asbestos siding is the better option, rather than covering it over.

It is best to wear a respirator during the sanding, painting, and sealing process. It can filter particles, vapors, and fumes that can be toxic to breathe. So it’s better to be safe and protect your lungs during this project.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.
