"this is the 4th project that I have used Foundation Recovery Systems for to repair my basement walls and the work is always spot on. On this project it was more wall anchors and Devon Brown and his crew did excellent work and were very informative about the work they were doing. They drove on very icy roads for three to four hours to get to my home."

"We hired Palmer Foundations and Flatwork to pour our foundation, porches, chopped walls, and floors, and let me just say ? they absolutely knocked it out of the park! From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled. Every single detail was executed with precision, and the final result truly exceeded our expectations. Not only does everything look phenomenal, but it?s also solid, clean, and built to last. They showed up when they said they would, communicated clearly throughout the project, and worked hard even through some tough conditions to get the job done right. If you?re looking for a concrete crew that takes pride in their work and delivers flawless results, look no further than Palmer Foundations and Flatwork. We couldn?t be happier with how everything turned out. Highly, highly recommend!"

Customers say: True professional

"We highly recommend Jason Kleinheider Concrete LLC because they were flexible in scheduling our work so as to not interfere with the store’s operation. Jason arrived on time, did a 6 inch pour, and completed the project. His measuring was precise and executed as promised. We were very grateful to Jason for the extra help he provided in excavating an adjacent landscaping remodeling project. He is a man who keeps his word and takes the extra step!"

"Meyer construction did everything for me. They smoothed out my yard, removed a lot of brush, put down a few inches of dirt, and then laid the sod all for a reasonable amount! I would definitely use them again! Job well done. Very friendly to work with also. You will not go wrong with using this company!"

"They showed up early in the morning to start removing all the old concrete. I went to work and by the time I got home they had already poured the driveway and they were finishing the garage floor. Highly recommend. Professional, fast and great quality work"

"Installed sump pump and drain tiles. They arrived on schedule, finished fast, and cleaned up afterwards. These guys worked hard and non stop for 3 days. They did not tear out 4 feet of Drywall all around the walls in the basement that some contractors wanted me to do myself, so that saved me a lot of money. I would recommend Dan and his crew highly and I am using them again soon for another job."

"Excellent, they are very hard workers with an attention to detail. The slab turned out great. Devin had a good idea on how to tie in to some existing concrete that made it look great. They were tidy in cleaning up after themselves. Very good communication throughout the project. I would definitely hire them again."

"Sam had an all-inclusive solution to the water leakage in the basement that included digging out channels and connecting to sump pump, setting the sump pump lower and a different pump, digging trench across back of yard for run-off, and waterproofing the exterior wall. He is a very hard worker and seems to be quite knowledgeable."

Concrete Walls questions, answered by experts

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

Homeowners can increase the usefulness of their garage space in other ways, and one option is to extend the length of the garage by making it deeper. The process is similar to traditional garage extensions, but the end product is a garage with a different layout rather than additional parking spaces.

Any bowing in a basement wall indicates a problem that needs to be addressed by a professional. If your basement wall bows more than 1 inch, it's time for an inspection. Generally, a wall can bow up to 30% of its thickness (around 2.5 inches for an 8-inch-thick wall) before it becomes an urgent situation. Bowing of 2 to 4 inches is more straightforward to fix than bowing of more than 4 inches, which will require significant repairs. If the bowing is more than 6 inches, the wall will likely need to be replaced. The sooner you address the problem, the easier and less expensive the repair will be.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

It’s possible to pour concrete if the temperatures are expected to dip below freezing at night, but you need to take some special precautions before you do. Most importantly, you need to make sure your concrete won’t freeze, so the best thing to do is enclose the area and heat it. You should also make sure you’re using cold-weather concrete that’s designed for pouring in cold weather. Use accelerants to help speed up the curing process and avoid cold temperatures from resulting in weak concrete.
