Lawrence Contracting

Hired Larry Vanover aka Lawrence contracting to do concrete work at my property in Leasburg Mo on 11/12/2024 he was given a cashiers check in the amount of $4000 dollars to begin the work on 11/13/2024 grading and trench work for a 30ftx40ft garage floor and footing . He sent a message to my son advising him that his help went hunting . he did not show up for the grading , trenching and forming which he could have done himself, he was advised that my sons would be there to help . I contacted Mr Vanover ,after a conversation with him and him telling me he wanted to change the footing because he was asking around town on how to do the project ,I became more concerned with his ability to complete the project with no help and not enough knowledge. I asked my money be returned, I asked him to meet with me to get this resolved but he has not. The project never got started and money not returned . To many excuses and lies, now no communication. Waited 5 hours he never showed . I would be very cautious hiring this company it has now been over a month and still my money has not been returned and the communication from him has completely stopped .

I do not recommend Lawrence Contracting. The owner and his workers are unprofessional and unreliable. Larry had a lot of excuses for doing substandard work and his bad work ethic. He would show up several hours later than he said he would, then would leave early. Final cost was more than quoted.

Larry gave me a quote of $1500-1700 to build a new fence. He promised a contract by Sunday and then provided one the Wednesday the night before at a higher price. He said he would be at my house from 8:30am-3:30pm. He showed up 3.5 hours late and did not communicate he would be. He said he would still finish the job. They left at 2:30 with only the old fence taken down. Said he would be back first thing in the morning to finish. His crew shows up at 11:30 and starts the fence with the wrong fencing that we agreed upon. I said something to them but they went ahead and put up the incorrect fence. They dug a post in the incorrect spot and I asked them about it. They put the post in concrete in the wrong spot. The fence tops were uneven and had to be redone. They left without finishing. Larry came back the next day and said he would be back Sunday between 9-10 to fix the issues. He did not show up. Then he said he would be out Wednesday. He did not show up. Thursday they finally showed up to finish. During this process Larry was rude anytime I would text him his arrival time when he was more than 2 hours late. His crew was good to work with but Larry himself was not.

I had Lawrence Contracting come and build me some extra parking. He showed up when he was supposed to and did a great job. Great customer service, will definitely hire him in the future

Larry was very responsive. Was able to complete our project within a week of our initial contact. Larry did excellent work and was interested in make sure that we were happy with his wok.

He and his crew are a pleasure to get to know and are respectful of your property. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. He removed my Kayak pool and left my backyard in great shape.
