"SISSI CONSTRUCTION upgraded our bathroom, part of basement and garage a few years ago. They did the job according to our requirements, some of which were tricky and time consuming for small details. We are happy with the result. They came in early and worked long day to finish the jobs within estimated times. They charged below average. We are comfortable to use them again."

"I hired this company with the primary intent to clean the garage floor. I did not need help with organization issues as the garage was organized. I was told that the floor would be powerwashed. However when they arrived they said they normally use a powerwasher but did not have one with them. Thus the process took a long time as they had to hook up my hose and use my buckets to clean the garage floor. I expected it to be powerwashed and so I was disappointed. It took a long time to complete without the powerwasher and was not cleaned as well without one. The two men who arrived were courteous and professional and did the best of their abilities without a powerwasher. They took everything out of the garage and placed it back in the garage with the intent to have it organized well for me.  They worked really hard. They accidentally moved the sensor for the garage door  when moving my stuff in and out,  and that caused me some stress bc after they left the garage door would not go down and it was in the evening. An hour later my neighbor came over and was able to reajust the sensor so that my garage door would go down. The owner said that this was a lesson learned for all so that they will be careful of this not happening with future customers. My only complaint is they did not show up with a power washer.

"I had originally arranged for another service to clean our air ducts, but when the other company didn't follow through, I contacted Nuts & Bolts. From the first phone call to the completion of the job, Doug was great. He answered every question I had about the cleaning procedures, both on the phone and in person when he and Kerry came by for an estimate. They were able to schedule the cleaning less than a week after providing the estimate, and they did so at a time that was most convenient for my work schedule. And they were very understanding when I told them about the cell phone that had fallen down one of the ducts a couple of weeks earlier. On the day of the appointment, Doug & Kerry arrived on time and got right to work. They were able to get all of their equipment into the basement, then took a few moments to best determine how to proceed with the air duct cleaning. They opted to focus on the duct with the lost cell phone first, and within a few minutes, they had retrieved it, still in relatively good shape! :-) Doug & Kerry worked very quickly and thoroughly to clean all of the vents and ducts in the house, and they treated my partner and I with courtesy and respect. Once the job was complete, Doug showed me the dirt & gunk that had been collected, and he pointed out the areas where he & Kerry accessed and sealed the ducts. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work that they performed, and I will definitely recommend them to others."

"Recently I saw people at my neighbor's house cleaning out her gutters and then later washing her windows. When I mentioned it, she told me that she periodically hires one or two laborers from this firm for a few hours. I called and asked about getting my deck power washed and stained. The company said they had a contracting business that could give me a "turn-key" (all-inclusive) price but that, if I wanted to attend to the other aspects myself, they could sell me just the labor. I asked for prices both ways. It took a little time to get the contract price. I ended up choosing to rent a power washer, buy my own stain and brushes and hire workers. I saved over $250, against the contract price. The workers stayed busy and were efficient and courteous. I am very pleased with the appearance of my deck."

Garage Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

How often you clean your garage depends on what you do in there and its overall level of disarray. You should clean the garage once every season, though some experts say every month. Decluttering and deep-cleaning once a year is enough for garages used primarily for storage, but if you do car maintenance or other hands-on project in the space, you’ll need to clean more frequently.

Most heat in a garage is lost through air leaks in windows, doors, and walls. This is especially true if the walls are uninsulated, which is common in garages. Consider insulating your garage before installing a garage heater to ensure the heat it generates isn’t wasted, making it less efficient.

Yes, garage cabinets are worth it to organize the tools, supplies, equipment, and gear you’ve been storing in the garage. Garage cabinets provide a great way to declutter your space while also preserving your valuables—keeping them free from dust, debris, and various weather elements. Not to mention, garage cabinets also elevate the look of your garage, which can prove beneficial when you’re looking to sell your home.

The smallest size a standard 2-car garage can be is 20 feet by 20 feet, so at these dimensions, you could reasonably expect to fit two cars inside. However, it’s going to be a tight fit, especially if you have larger SUVs or pickup trucks. For smaller cars, 20 x 20 should be plenty for parking and some space to maneuver around the cars. A larger garage size would be better to ensure you have room to open the doors and transport groceries or other items around the cars.

If your garage door seems to freeze every winter, you can try rubbing silicone spray or petroleum jelly around the edges and rollers of the garage door. However, it’s a good idea to avoid direct application of silicone sprays like WD40 to rubber edges, which could damage them over time. A garage door that frequently freezes shut could need a full replacement, especially if it’s showing signs of rust or other wear and tear.
