We had a yellow cultured marble roman tub, which had a large step (which was dangerous) to enter the tub.  We removed the step, made a wood side panel for the tub, retiled the floor area where the step had been, installed marble around the top of the tub, and then had Miracle Method spray the interior of the tub to make it white.

Bob came to bid the job and provided very complete prices for the different options we were considering.  Very professional and a wealth of information.

Cory was our technician.  He was excellent, fast, on time and meticulous.  He explained everything, and was excellent at protecting the surroundings.  We are so very pleased with the result.  He is a gem!

Thanks to everyone at Miracle Method!

"Humes Masonry did a great job on my tuck pointing project. They were very professional, courteous, and responsive throughout the project. They do high quality work at a reasonable price, and went the extra mile to attempt to clean-up some work from a previous contractor. I would highly recommend Humes Masonry and will certainly consider them for future work. Overall, a great customer experience.

"The good: Based on how friendly and knowledgeable Brian was, we hired Andre Tuckpointing and Brickwork in 2018 to spot-point some problem areas, grind out and tuckpoint the windowsills and chimney, which were all successful. The bad: Brian's team was not as experienced as he is, and the work other than that listed above has not held up. We had to call them to come back multiple times since they almost left our home without spot-pointing a substantial crack, as well as other issues (read on). Moreover, while it was easy to communicate with the office, the follow-through was poor. Particularly, I would not recommend them for: any of the other work we paid for (spot pointing of the steps and porch, and caulking/tuckpointing the foundation). Off the bat, they told us the foundation work was a gamble, so I should have understood that as "this will not work" instead of being optimistic and paying for it. Some of this work has not held up over time (i.e. not even 2 years), while the work on the steps harmed their integrity, resulting in the need for a new handrail and redoing the bottom step. After pestering the office and Brian for a number of months and buying a new railing, Brian came out, but the work on the bottom step was inferior and is already crumbling (he told us he would only come out once to address this issue). He did not charge us to come out to work on the steps after the initial issues, but now we have to hire someone else to fix the poor work that was done. While I would like to have confidence that they would come out and repair their work, I do not expect that would happen since Brian specifically stated that he would not. Overall: If you are looking to have your brickwork tuckpointed, and don't mind it being a little sloppy, hire them. If you are looking to have your steps, porch, or foundation tuckpointed or repaired, do not hire them."

"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.
