"Had c&g pluming come out and give me an estimate on installing a new sink and faucet as well as a toilet and look at a few things I had concerns about and they quoted me a good price and I let them start the work and Iâ m amazed with how well everything turned out and how professional and knowledgeable there plumbers are. "I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

"I purchased a house and the first time it rained, I found I had a river running through my basement. After reviewing a few companies, I decided on FRS. The crew that completed the work, Gary Duvall-Joe Putnam-Davaughn Williams, arrived on time and completed the project ahead of schedule. They were courteous, professional, and took the time to go over the system that was being installed. I couldn't have asked for a better crew for this job. They kept the area free of debris and left it looking cleaner then it was before they arrived. The end result looks better than I expected it to and I will ask to have them sent back for any other project that may arise in the future. I would recommend them, without a doubt, to everyone."

"Perfect job! First time they came out they determined the problem was in the gasline encased in stonework. Recommended getting a stonemason to chip away the rock, expose the line. Lined up the stonemason and phoned Jamison to make the appointment. Owner of company told me he would personally come out at the time of the stonemason to make sure no more stone than necessary removed. He did so. After rock removed, one of Jamison's plumbers came out, replaced the gasline (obstructed w/years of corrosion) and replace the ignition switch, reassembled the burner and ignited the pit. This company has first class workers and know what they are doing! Highly recommend for complicated jobs, such as this one! Thanks!

"It was great. We just haven't done anything at all with it. The responsiveness of the guy was very good. I think it was just not quite what we were looking for. It wasn't that their price was really high. I think it was just the price that we decided. Instead of just redoing the whole thing. we decided to do a fraction of it. The quote was about $5000. Their professionalism is great. We just need the plumbing redone and then that little section re-tiled. I don't think they would do just a little bit. With ReBath, they do the whole system."

"Fast professional and friendly. Spot on when it came to the estimate all the way around. Job site was clean and looked better than it ever did before Buxton started the job. We would recommend Buxton waterproofing every time! Raymond Buxton is what I would call an honest hard working family man, he treats you like a family member! Kind of a Jack of all trades!!"

"I called Tap Heating and Cooling early Sunday afternoon.  John was at the house within an hour.  He explained to me what the problem was and how it could be fixed.  He left to go get parts and was back within the hour like he said.  He assured me he wasn't leaving until I had heat.  When he left I had heat.  Thank you John.  In the future Tap has won my business.  Nothing but professionalism, honesty, and courteousness was shown.  Great customer service.  You will be hearing from me in the near future.

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, a skilled plumber can thaw frozen pipes, and it is recommended to hire a professional rather than attempting a DIY fix. A plumber will typically start by investigating your plumbing to locate the frozen areas. They then use professional equipment, such as a heat gun, to safely thaw the affected pipes. If a pipe has already burst or developed leaks, the plumber can make the necessary repairs. For homes with frequently frozen pipes, a plumber can also suggest preventative measures like improving pipe insulation or rerouting lines away from areas prone to freezing.

If you notice water coming out of the bottom of your tank or the flush handle, you obviously have a leaking tank. Water on the side of the tank can indicate cracks. Other signs include the toilet running and flushing without anyone touching the handle, needing to jiggle the handle to make the water stop after flushing, or needing to hold the handle down to empty the water tank.

Liquid drain cleaners are harsh chemicals that can erode your pipes. To treat a slow drain or for preventative maintenance, pour hot water down the drain to break up gunk and help move it along. Make sure the water isn’t boiling hot (keep it under 140 degrees Fahrenheit) if you have plastic pipes. However, you’ll need to pull the clog out for bigger backups.

While some building codes allow galvanized pipe for natural gas, it shouldn’t be used for propane. Propane can cause the pipe to wear down, leading to dangerous leaks. Instead of galvanized piping for propane, you should consider coated copper, black iron, or corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST). For underground propane line installation, you can use polyethylene (PE).

A backwater valve’s purpose is to let the water flow in one direction. It works like a little door that allows water to flow freely in one direction but stops it from flowing the opposite way. A backflow preventer is meant to prevent water from leaving your system, locking out wastewater in the process. Backflow preventers are commonly used by city sewer systems to stop residential wastewater from entering the water supply.
