"This is the second time we’ve hired GA Chott during the past 10+ years. We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. This was a large, 8-week project. We did our homework and acquired several bids. GA Chott wasn’t the cheapest (or the most expensive), but they were clearly the best choice. We give our highest recommendation. You’ll be pleased with both the quality of the work and how it’s handled throughout the process."

Customers say: Quick response

"Excellent customer service! The team was efficient, responsive, and professional. I was very much in need of a bathroom remodel, due to a deteriorating floor. The product quality is excellent and exceeded the remodel. Very reasonable pricing! I highly recommend Romine Contracting LLC!!!"

"I hired this company to extend the natural gas in my house and would definitely recommend them. I felt that the plumber who did the installation really knew what he was doing and seemed like a great guy. The installation went well and the price was fair."

"Fantastic company that went above and beyond for me. They were punctual, professional and did a top notch repair job on my washer in a very timely manner. What set this company apart from other companies is that it’s locally owned, been in business 40 years and is run like an old school business (that’s hard to find these days). They offer unmatched customer service, superior work, and great prices. The company manager/owner took my order personally over the phone. I knew I was in competent hands and ones I could trust. I must mention something about our service technician (who in addition to the above mentioned) is the reason I plan to give this company my lifelong loyalty and business. His name is George (@city location) and honestly speaking, I don’t think I’ve come across a kinder more patient person who’s come to my home for any type of job. I must have wasted at least an hour of his extra time (inadvertently) due to a mixup I made with my credit card (100% my fault). This mistake(s) caused this sweet man to have to leave my home and come back to my door from his car THREE separate times. He had to then write out three separate service orders, voiding the first two. The temp was close to 100 F that day, and I’ll tell you, he couldn’t have been kinder or more patient about it. When I told him how sorry I was for taking time away from his other customers, he said, “You are my customer right now.” I was so impressed by this as well as the company and workmanship overall. Afterwards, I called and spoke with the company’s manager/owner, Boris, to explain what had happened. He also, was such a kind, personable and understanding individual who listened and thanked me repeatedly for my service. If you’re looking for a fantastic Appliance Repair Service, LOOK NO FURTHER than All - American Appliance Service Inc.!!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Tools include a wrench, plunger, and wax ring. Professionals use specialized tools for complex installations.

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, but the actual temperature that can cause frozen pipes can vary. Generally, it takes 12 hours for pipes to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uninsulated pipes can freeze if it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for over three hours. If your pipes are insulated, it can take six hours or longer for pipes to freeze. Note that some pipe types freeze more often than PEX pipes. Copper pipes freeze more often because the copper conducts energy and loses heat quickly.

Check your basement floor. There’s usually a covered panel in the floor. The valve could also be near a sump pump. If you don’t have a basement, look near your water meter. You may see a rectangular or round cover, which is often clear (allowing you to easily see inside), over the valve.

You don’t need to remove sediment from your water well. Sediment in your water well is normal. The problem is when the sediment enters your water supply. In this case, look into your pump. The size and placement of your pump can lead to sediment in your water. If it’s too big, it’ll overwork and stir up the sediment at the bottom, pulling it into the pump. If it’s too low, it will pull up the sediment that’s settled at the bottom. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends annual well maintenance to check and test for cleanliness, mechanical problems, and contaminants.

The diverter valve in your bathtub is responsible for diverting water between your tub spout and your shower head. If water comes out of both at the same time, you have a faulty diverter valve. You can have a plumber replace this for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have some experience working with plumbing fixtures.
