"The men came out right on time and started to work. My house is setting on 14ft of fill! They dug five holes next to the foundation. They had to jack hammer for two days through a lot of rock until they got to the basement footer. Deshon O, Jovann J and Kyle H were the team ready for the task. Iâ m really impressed with the hard work and the team tasked with making my foundation solid again. Foundation Recovery Systems was right priced and reliable. If I had known it was such a reasonable cost Iâ d have had it done years ago. Iâ ll be recommending them!"

"They were on time and did the job pretty quickly. After an hour that they finished the work, it rained. Until now, it's still raining so I can't say much about the quality yet. Their work was under warranty so I'll just call them if needed."

"Gregg's Foundation is the only basement and foundation repair company I will ever use. He is the best in the business! Prices are extremely reasonable, work is excellent, and I never have to worry about being charged for something I don't need. You can't go wrong hiring them to fix your basement. I highly recommend them. A+++"

"We had a 6 foot, 1/4" wide vertical crack in our foundation wall, and floor. Travis was quick to respond to the request from Home Advisor, but was entirely no pressure when he came out to bid the job. When we decided to go with him, he was able to schedule us for the following week. The morning of the start date, the weather was bad, and Travis called ahead to let us know he would be about 15 minutes late. He actually arrived on time, but since he wasn't certain about his arrival, he had called ahead; we always appreciate these kinds of gestures. Throughout the process he was very meticulous, and thoroughly professional, yet very easy going. He explained what needed to be done, and why, before we contracted with him, and during the process of fixing the wall and floor, he explained what he was doing, and what it would accomplish. When he was finished, he left us with a warranty on the repair work, which is transferable to the next owner, which we will certainly make prospective buyers aware of, should we decide to sell the house in the future."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

You should take care of any sign of water in your basement, whether it’s dampness after heavy rain or puddles of water on the floor. Besides potentially causing a health hazard, the moisture can damage your home’s structure and foundation. Furthermore, mold can grow quickly and spread throughout the rest of your home. With mold remediation costs ranging between $1,200 and $3,400, it’s best to avoid mold issues by fixing the leak.

The type of stormwater drainage system you need depends on your area’s storm severity and frequency. Your property’s location should also be considered, including the surrounding soil type, nearest roads, existing drainage systems, and slopes and hills. Your property’s structure, such as decks, walkways, crawl spaces, and foundation, also affects what drainage system will work the best.

Start by calling a plumber if you want to install a sump pump battery backup. Talk to them about your situation and needs. Sometimes, electricians or waterproofing contractors will install a battery backup, and in that case, the plumber you call should be able to point you in the right direction.

There are a few possible sump pump drainage locations, including a neighborhood storm drain, into a creek or pond, or underground. Don’t let your sump pump water go into your sewer or septic system. Ideally, your drainage spot should be on a downhill slope that’s at least 10 to 20 feet away from your home’s foundation. Before choosing a location, check your local codes and regulations.
