"Chad and his crew are seriously the BEST! He installed a huge wooden privacy fence for us and cleaned up several different areas of our yard in the process including old tree stumps, and problem areas we had with his excavator. We were so impressed with his crew and their willingness to be creative with the fence and build up a up to large tree that we loved to include them in our fence line. I could tell after day 1 of the build that details mattered to him and the crew truly were experts in the field. I feel like we were working with the most knowledgeable crew out there and felt taken care of the entire time. Outside of being thrilled with the final product itself, Chad was the most professional and courteous guy we have worked with! His communication was top notch and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. THANK YOU CS Excavating and Fence! We will recommend you to all of our friends and family."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

By securing posts deeply and ensuring proper drainage around foundations.

A metal fence can last for over 30 years if maintained correctly, though the exact lifespan varies by material. For instance, chain-link and aluminum fences can function well for 25 to 30 years, while corrugated metal fences may last up to 60 years with regular maintenance. The lifespan can be shortened by harsh weather, abuse, or lower-quality materials. Galvanized metal tends to last longer due to its protective barrier, whereas sheet and corrugated metal may rust faster than solid pieces.

Determining the best type of fence to contain your pet can be tricky. Consult a pet fence installer and consider the following questions:

  • What size pet do you have? Some fence types, like chain link, are too short to contain large dogs.

  • Is digging an issue? Some fences, like brick or stone, help minimize digging at the fence line, where wood fences aren’t as adequate.

  • Do you need to block your pet’s view of the neighbor's yard? Some fences, like metal iron fencing and chain link, don’t offer an obstructed view.

Yes, installing a picket fence is a manageable DIY project for homeowners with basic tools and some patience. The process involves marking the fence line, digging post holes, setting the posts, and attaching horizontal rails and pickets. However, precision is key to ensure the fence is straight and sturdy, which can be challenging for beginners. If the fence line is long, the ground is uneven, or you’re working with more complex materials like metal or composite, hiring a pro may be a better option.

You'll notice that many projects that add value to your home involve increasing curb appeal. Adding an aluminum fence improves the style of your yard and the safety levels for pools, pets, and backyard playtime. You can also choose aluminum fence designs with unique ornamental features or paint the fence to match your home's style.
