"Don't know if I'll have enough space to say all the wonderful things about Affordable Plumbing and Septic! We had an apparent lightening strike at our home on Lake Nehai in Keytesville. The septic tank pump/grinder (which carries waste water from the septic tank to the city sewer line up the hill) was fried. We couldn't use any water or flush toilets without the tank overflowing into the yard. Affordable's price was in line with other estimates, but their service was far better! They were prompt, professional and thorough. After the installation of the new pump/grinder, when it was discovered that the replacement pump/grinder didn't work, they determined that the electrical line that went to the old pump was also damaged. They called in an electrician who was able to replace the electrical line and we were up and running within 24 hours. Excellent service. Throughout the process, I was outside observing. All my (many) questions were answered with patience and good humor. The installation was not easily accomplished, but the expert installer knew how to overcome all the difficulties. If we ever have another problem, we will definitely call Affordable. We have even signed up to have them do an annual inspection and cleaning of the tank. The owner also talked with our insurance company to explain the damage to help us file our claim for the lightening strike. If you have a septic or plumbing problem, call Affordable!"

"We bought a house recently. The inspection report called for installation of an expansion tank and lengthened drip leg on the HW heater. Jamison Plumbing had installed the new HW tank several months before for the original home owner. Jason called the City of Liberty to determine the exact code requirements. He called back and agreed to the additional work at no charge. He was able to make the changes in a timely manner. His crew called to say they would be later than planned because of an unexpected delay at the preceding job site. We appreciated his willingness to finish the installation according to code and to cover the additional materials and time. It was a great way to be welcomed into a new community.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Drilled wells have a pipe sticking up that’s covered in a plastic or metal casing. On the other hand, a dug well will look like a big hole in the ground and is more similar to what you’d see in a fantasy or Western movie. If you want to be sure, contact the city for documentation on your property’s construction and excavation history.

Yes, a septic tank can get full. If this happens, you might run into issues flushing your toilets or draining your sinks. You may also notice your pipes making gurgling noises or the smell of sewage floating around your house. Other signs of a backed-up septic tank include water pooling or fresh, healthy grass growing above your drain field.

For homes with a septic tank, harsh chemicals like those found in drain cleaner or bleach aren’t recommended. Some chemical drain cleaners can disrupt the balance of bacteria in the septic tank or damage your pipes. For homes with a septic tank, you can choose drain cleaners specifically formulated for use with septic tanks or go with a drain snake. When in doubt, make sure you know who to call for a clogged drain

Septic tanks appear full after pumping because the liquid levels have returned to normal. If you can see the pipe, the tank is empty. However, heavy rain can cause septic tanks to fill faster than normal. You might also have leaky pipes or faucets, causing extra water to drip down the drains and into the septic tank.

DIY is not recommended due to safety and technical requirements. Hire professionals for accurate diagnosis and repair.
