"Mr Tomlin took the edge off of choosing for the job. He was courtesy and informative about the process, fast, and left the worksite clean. Clear follow-up instructions on what to do and for how long. Mr Tomlin put emphasis on the fact that if things should go wrong, to call and he would work with me to clear it up."

"Absolutely fantastic! Most companies say “affordable services” but JP’s means it! They were extremely respectful of the property and were so polite and friendly. I would absolutely recommend JP’s to anyone in the St.Louis area."

"10-26-20 I have never been this satisfied with a tree service in my life. I am 68 YO and the crew they sent me was clean, professional, courteous, and timely. They took all the dead wood out of 5 very large trees in my back yard, no boom work, all hand climbing. The cost was so reasonable and the clean up was excellent. If you have tree trimming to do and care about the health of your tress, call BAUMANN, I WILL AGAIN. JOHN G"

"Fast, friendly. They completed the tree trimming in quick order. The tree looks great. They're quite a value foe the service they provide. I'd would/will hire them again in the future."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Depending on the type of land survey, the report will mark the boundaries of your property, the topographical changes of the landscape, as well as major natural and added structures to the plot. A more detailed survey, like an as-built survey, will note the measurements of the structures and landscape following major construction. A topographic survey will also help your contractor determine the cost of land development projects.

When planning for land survey costs, you should consider the following elements as major contributors to the overall cost:

  • Size of your property in terms of acres or square feet

  • Complexity of the terrain in terms of hills, elevation changes, rocks, water, and other features

  • Type of survey you need (boundary survey, topographic survey, or a combination of survey types)

  • Distance traveled for the professional surveyor

Professional well contractors may use electromagnetic mapping to look for places with a high likelihood of water. Water access can vary significantly, even on the same property, so it can be difficult to know where to drill if you don’t have specialized tools to look for water.

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.
