"This whole project could not have gone smoother for us. From Adam L. helping us understand the process and getting us scheduled to Isaiah S. and Matt N. doing the work on site, we couldn't have been more pleased. All three gentlemen were friendly, professional and answered all of my (many) questions. I highly recommend Innovative Basement Authority...I wish I could give 6 stars."

"This job was completed efficiently and professionally. A design specialist came to test and measure every detail for the project. The crew arrived with everything needed for the job. They worked very hard to install Waterguard in the concrete floors inside around the foundation to the sump pump basket. They also installed Geo-lock anchors to support a block wall that was bowed. This company has 36 years in business and provides excellent results and professional customer relations. Call Amer. Wtrwrks for a free estimate. You will not be disappointed. A wise investment of $11,270."

"My back was against the wall. I am selling our townhouse and received a last minute letter from our HOA that holes in our brick on our patio needed to be repaired. I literally had 5 days to close and was coming up on long Memorial Day weekend. I started with Angi’s list.at 10:30 pm. Heard back immediately from Avery. Knowing my situation he fit me in today. I cannot say enough great things about Avery personally and professionally. I “managed” this project from an airplane he was so easy to work with. The HOA gave me approval and all is set to close. I never dreamed this would be so easy and I would find someone as talented as Avery is. I give my wholehearted approval of Brickmasters LLC. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED"

"The estimate was in our budget range and included a narrow sidewalk to our back fence gate.  Total square footage was just under 500 square feet which made a nice front patio area.  The workmanship was top notch and we have had many compliments from neighbors and friends."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

A fireplace is, by definition, an enclosed space where you burn wood or other fuel for the purpose of generating light and heat. A firepit burns wood and is much less expensive to build, but they aren’t technically a fireplace as it isn’t enclosed. An outdoor oven—commonly outdoor brick pizza ovens—often uses wood as fuel, but its primary purpose is to cook food, and you’d rarely just burn wood inside them for warmth or aesthetic reasons.

Cobblestone can be made from many different types of stones but the most common ones, by far, are granite, basalt, limestone, and sandstone.  If you are laying a brick paver patio or other such project, the medium is different. It’s rare, but cobblestone can also be made from marble, slate, jasper, and other types of rock. Technically, you can make cobblestone from almost any type of rock, but if it is weather-resistant and stands the test of time is another question entirely.

A traditional rectangular brick that is used for siding, brick walks, and pathways is 8 inches long by 4 inches wide. If you are shopping for fire bricks, the standard dimension is typically 9 inches long by 4.5 inches wide.

The cost to install or replace brick or stone siding generally ranges from $10 to $50 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the specific material type, local labor rates, and any necessary preparation work, such as removing old siding. For example, different types of stone have varying costs per square foot: natural stone ($4.50–$35), stone veneer ($11–$13), faux stone ($6–$9), and cultured or manufactured stone ($5–$8).

You can use adhesive strips to hang lights on brick—just make sure you get outdoor mounting tape and not just any old double-sided tape for your project.
