Jack of all trades handyman services. I offer lower prices because I have low overhead costs. I don't get paid until your happy. I am a skilled tradesman for the Army Corp of engineers full time but I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to devote 3 days a week or more on my side business. I use other skilled craftsman and laborers when needed depending on the job. I work with clients budgets and both parties always leave happy.

Tim Reed, owner and sole proprietor of No-Name Painter, has over 20 years of industry experience with painting and custom color mixing. He spent four years honing his painting application skills working for Ryan Enterprises, a real estate investment company in Mankato, MN. After setting the ground work, he focused on learning other aspects of the industry including ink and paint custom color mixing and electronic matching at C & C Special products, Bloomington, MN. He also learned other techniques such as adhesion to substrates including aluminum, steel, glass, wood, acrylic, stucco, concrete, cedar shake, cinder block, and others. In 2001 he worked for Midwest Industrial Coatings in Shakopee, MN where more time was spent learning about the longevity of various paint products for the golf, watercraft, snowmobile, and ATV industries. Now armed with a plethora of knowledge and experience, Tim is earning the trust and respect of the Rochester community one home at a time.

"We have hired Tim for several jobs. Most recently he repainted a bathroom and repaired/painted walls that had been damaged by a baby gate. In the past he painted our dining room including window trim, and some bedrooms. He is always meticulous, neat, and considerate. I highly recommend him and will definitely hire him when I need future paint jobs!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

While building your deck, you might come across something called the four-inch sphere rule. Essentially, this railing requirement for a deck states that a four-inch ball should not be able to fit through any gap in the deck railings. The gap between spindles and between the decking and the bottom of the railing must be less than four inches to prevent small children or pets from squeezing through the gap.

While the chemical, copper-based coating on pressure-treated wood offers protection from rot and pests, it’s not a silver bullet. An added sealant will help protect the wood further, though sometimes the wood is treated in a way that causes premature failure, and this is largely out of your control. It’s simply a case of bad luck. Regularly inspect all your house’s wood to look for any cracks or signs of mold and mildew. Getting ahead of the problem is the key to ensuring it doesn’t grow out of control.

With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

If you notice standing water under the deck after rainstorms, you may need a drainage system to efficiently move this water. You do not want standing water to rest against your foundation or against support posts for the deck, as this could cause significant structural problems over time. Make sure the area has proper grading, too.

Winterizing a screened-in porch can help extend its life and prevent damage to your porch, furniture, and decor. Removable winterization methods like vinyl panels or vinyl sheeting will allow you to fully enjoy your porch in warmer weather while protecting it from damage over the winter.
