"Snow and rain delayed the work by weeks, and like other service providers working outdoors during this remarkable spring of crazy weather, Dakota Landscape & Design got behind in scheduling and doing projects. When Josh and one of his workers finally came with the plants, both the plants and the work were terrific. The plants are healthy and attractive, and Josh and the other worker did an excellent job with the planting (taking care not to damage plants already in my yard) and were exceptionally patient as I figured out where I wanted each plant. In other words, both actual visits could not have been better. The delays, backlog, and communication between the two visits might have been better. "
"I was really happy with Justin and his team. For me this was a big job and involved a lot of money and a lot of moving parts. The ceiling texturing had been poorly done so removal was not as simple as scraping popcorn ceilings. The house had many different dark colored walls so the painting over them was not a simple task either. "Upon the completion of the project, I eagerly gave Tom and ACT Landscaping a very good review. I was happy overall with the finished project and Tom?s communication skills. Unfortunately, I am going to have to revise my review due to his lack of communication AFTER the project was completed and my review was already submitted.
During the project, Tom was always reachable and he responded timely to my concerns whether it was through text, email or phone. After the project was completed, it became almost impossible to get him to respond and take action to solve an unexpected erosion issue. The warranty clearly states that they will repair any patio as a result of normal wear and tear for a period of one year.
After only four months, one corner of the patio eroded to expose the edging and stakes. The first time, Tom sent someone out to add dirt to the area. A few days later after a rainstorm, the area eroded again. I emailed Tom and asked for a more permanent solution to the erosion issue, and he replied that he was going to take care of it. I waited a good three weeks and there was no response. I emailed him again, and he said he was busy with another project and would come out the following week.
I waited another two weeks and then called him directly. There was no response so I left a voice message. I waited for him to call me back, but he didn?t. A couple days later, I left another voice message. Now, it?s been two months, and he hasn?t called, emailed or texted me. There is now snow on the ground. At this point, I don?t know if it is worth it to pursue this any further. It is a waste of my time and resources to try to get a response from this company. This project cost me thousands of dollars. Clearly, they are only responsive when they need the rest of the payment. Once the job is done, they feel they have no more reason to address concerns. After this experience, I will definitely not recommend ACT Landscaping to anyone. "
